yes i get...

the problem is it always record mono...

like...when you choose to record it stereo...audacity opens two channels right? Always one channel works and the other channel is just a straight line withouth siginal....

what i think is happenin is...I use 2xRCA out of my rec or amp of my mixer (crap behringer), to 1x1`4 stereo, into the input port 1 of my soundcard. And, when at audacity, the only option os record input i have is:
``audifire input 1-2`` so what i think is happening is, audacity is using each input port to one side... i mean, input 1=L and input 2=R, but i dont know how to fix it or if it is it really

using 2xRCA to 1x1'4 STEREO INTO THE SOUNDCARD, and the soundcard connected via firewire into the computer.

are you sure the 1'4 jack is stereo? Just use 2 rca to 2 1'4 mono jacks.

are you saying about using to 2x1'4 mono to plug on the two inputs of the soundcard?           ``We shall not cease from exploration - And the end of all our exploring - Will be to arrive where we started - And know the place for the first time.``

hi, can someone help me..

the djsets that i m recording they seem that the music that is in the cd is more ''clear'' and with more power than when it is recorded on the set, like the bass, the bass of the musics in my sets looks like they loose a lot of power in the recorded set when I compare it with the original track, and most of the time I always leave the bass at 0... why is that

i m using a echo audiofire 2 as soundcard..

thanks in advance           ``We shall not cease from exploration - And the end of all our exploring - Will be to arrive where we started - And know the place for the first time.``

sorry but i have no solution for recording, but i do have a somewhat related question.. i read about the 1st 2 pages and got what miazu was saying about the -4 dB peak level.

my question was, when your mixing live not recording, do you guys normally pump the channel volume all the way up (assuming no distortion), or do you do it to like to take it up to 80% or something, leaving that small 20% buffer for emphasis of mids, highs, lows, or parts of a track you like?

other than that, when mixing whats the best way to check the volume levels are just right, quite often you make a transition and your bummed out to see that the track your mixing in next is sounding alot softer ... normally i try and match them on the headphones but its not full proof. now im thinking i might just try and do that for the lows, and leave the mids and highs as a judgement call depending on how the mix sounds on the big sound system... any thoughts?

I try to listen in my headphones comparing on going to incoming, basicly only how the kicks sit together is other louder or tighter and try to level em with EQ's           http://www.myspace.com/polly_potb
