good luck on your jazz journey. I don't know a lot of names but I LOVE to listen to jazz live or on the radio....something about the sound of jazz over the radio is really magical for me.

those are some of the best, IMO, but theres lots of good stuff out there that i don't know the names of. I find that in the world of jazz there's a fairly high signal to noise ratio, meaning there's a higher percentage of good stuff out there as compared to the crap.
i gotta say though, smooth jazz is lame, IMO
