the crowd has changed, but so have we all. once it was new for us & japan, now it's not. so changes are 100% gonna happen to what we think about it. there's no way of not havin that happen.
for me, when i first goin, rainbow 2000, parties in yokohama bay hall the music and crowd completely blew my mind (comin from the funk/drum&bass parties in vienna) the poundin bass... it was enthralling, didn't know any of the djs or tracks, just the experience was enough.. the magic stayed with me till 2001 sols party and hotaka..
this year, well, know i look at it with a critical eye, lotsa fights, lotsa unwanted rudeness, bad looks, etx..

music at parties sometimes fail to excite me at all, or get tired of listen to a dj that plays like i do at home (amatuer).. but i accept these feelings because i'm sure it's inevitable when uve been to too many parties..

as for me, like my name, i go because i like to dance&smile. i can bear most of the bad aspects of the scene right now, becasue the good aspects by far further outweigh the bad parts..

so bom.
and plus always keep lookin for the new parties.. new orgs, new music genres, the main criteria for me is, can i dance like a lunatic while feelin a communal consiciousness of acceptance and bonding and hedonistic pleasure...
of course people say psy trance is spiritual and all, and sometimes i get a glimpse of that too, but rarely, and on special occasions..
so i guess i've just lowered my standards a bit, and enjoy as most as i can.
cuz lets face it, it is FUN!!
sorry to have run on a bit off topic.

peace

The scene right now the way i see it WAS good for business. you got all the young kids coming, if your an organizer or a label this is where the money WAS at.
but lately, every organizer in japan is losing money with parties. Even VQ loses money at their small parties(although festivals they make a lot).

For people who have been here for a while you can say it looks bad. People who arent their for the music, mafia, fights etc... Personally this is one of the reasons i dont like to go to parties.

But the biggest reason why this scene has gone wack, is that there are just too many organizations, too many parties, too many for such a small scene. hope things get better.

Hi Tanua,

Here's a link to the psy16 website.
Use it as a portal to the Japanese Psy / Progressive scene. Lots of links there to keep you going for awhile.

hello all. first time posting here.

I got into psy trance about only a year ago, so not that long of a listener, but I enjoy it alot.

I live in part of Japan called Miyazaki, and the scene here is not that big, but still there are some events happenening once in a while.

I think there are only a few real psy trance listeners here, other just enjoy epic trance or just want any kind of dance music.

Once a year there is an outdoor trance event during the summer, but I think there should be more here and spread the scene!

I am also DJing with friends but we havent been mixing on events as of now.. but we would like to organize parties any time near in the future.
