Yes, there is a lot of Israeli full on that sounds the same, but come on – that’s also the case with dark psy (actually I think it’s even more the case with dark psy, but that’s just my opinion and a matter of taste) and even my favourite style; progressive trance and house.

Of course a lot of (mainly new) artists are going to follow the winning formula, but there’s really no point in trying to fight it, as it’s the case with all kinds of music. If something gets popular, it will be copied.

My point? This topic is old news, and isn’t going to change a thing.           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Agreed but here in Greece I never heard neither xerox, neither, psysex, neither domestic neither hujaboy at any set espesually locals.I don't know but they prefer to play always the most cheesy tunes. Is that underground?I would appreaciate it if I could here tracks from that names at dj sets

Look, you can't deny that Israeli Full-On right now has a bunch of "newer" artists sounding very, VERY, similar...
Of course that's only a group and more popular artists such as xerox, psysex, hujaboy etc... are way better usually.

I agree, too many clones.

Flash back a few years to UFS2. I think that's a good example of Israeli psytrance at its best... and it's no question that the creativity of the tracks makes it that way.

Good example for you Huja Plastic Zeus!! What else sounds like that?!

Well. it is true and it is untrue!...

I agree that there exsists a "cliche Israely-sound", both in the way of building up a track, with the big break, peaking melodic stuff i the end etc. and the selections of sounds!! And for this reason a number of israely artist sound kind of similar for sure!!....

BUT they do have a number of realy good artists, that breaks this cliche and makes some outstanding music, Psysex, Lish, Hujaboy and others ...so to the guys that makes realy original sounding stuff...it would be unfair to say that every isra-artist sound the same....

Besides some copy & paste artists not only in Israel, but all over the world, there are LOTS of creative and different artists in Israel (and in the rest of the world).

I think most people that complain about it is just listenning to the wrong music.

I can spend an year listenning to Israeli music (that I choose) and in the end of the year I would ask for more.

No they are very diffrnt from one another maybe u just dont connect to the genre at all.

From my point of view israel is a party heaven!
Try going all over the world to understand what u do have here.

U have the commercial side, many genres of full on,u have progressive parties and the biggest underground scene!!!

200 people in a forest cave or montaine top isnt underground ? it sure is regarldless of what music they are playing.

Crying Orc Project
and what does underground mean to u ? that people will work their ass off for free ?

Does Astrix sound like Infected? Does psysex sound like Sesto Sento? Does domestic sound like nick?

No,,, this is a dumb thread and that was a good post.           no sig

Thank you very much Mr. Huja I have to agree with you.

So what does commercial mean anyway?
What does underground mean?
Why is it that underground is better than commercial? Does that mean that if you become really popular, and allot of poeple like you're music that you are a sell-out, and you're music is commercial? Does that mean that if you're music is played on the radio that you're a sell-out? People want to keep psychedelic trance underground, but guess what everyone, IT'S NOT UNDERGROUND ANYMORE!!!! Those days are over. Too many people know about it to be underground, and there is nothing you can about it, so stop crying and get on with it! And besides the more people that know about it, the more the artists and the promoter's, and everyone that works to !@#$%n' hard to keep this music alive, will actually get paid for their hard work!

It's true that some artist in psychedelic trance sound similar to other artist, but that's what makes a genre. There are allot of reggae artist that sound similar, that's because they all make reggae! Same as rock, punk, pop, any genre!
Speaking of which, there needs to be some organization in the different styles inside the genre of psychedelic trance. I am a psychedelic trance DJ, and I play allot of chemical crew type stuff. Now how can a DJ that plays Iboga say that he/she plays psychedelic trance also. It's not enough to say full-on isreali psychedelic trance, or full-on commercial, or minmal psychedelic trance, or progre. psy or whatever. I know allot of you out there are against labeling, but what if each color of the rainbow didn't have a name and when you talk about yellow, you could only use ajictives to describe it. With all of us creative people ot there, I'm sure we can come up with better names.

And back to the main topic, if you think everything sounds the same, I think you're ears need a little tuning.

I think it's more about the dj sets than on the music it self!

nowadays many djs choose one style and carry on with it till the end of their sets and don't make an effort to vary their set!

Apart from that,
the way djs are mixing their sets can also be one of the main reasons why it sounds all the same!
Many are using techno styletechnique to mix trance.
Beat to beat and here we go.......!
