I got a question that bothered me for a while and ill ask it now.

Why when a foreigner artist , whenever he is good or bad , comes to israel he get here with more then 1 gig and there for he get back to his country with money to continue suport him and improve his equipment ?
And excellent israeli artists makes money for buying peanuts the next day and this is when the situation is good and he get money for his time ?

???

Well, that's true... but the point is this:

Is Necton any better than... Lish for instance? I don't think so.

Who will get payed more to perform in Israel? Necton. Why? Because he's NOT from Israel. Is that right? If we weren't such big snobs, we'd understand that our artists are not just good, they're at the top of the food chain with a select few.

Psycraft, Cosma, Brain Bubbles, Lish (the list is way too long) and all of the veterans like Oforia, Space Cat, Astral Projection...

We're good. Our artists deserve as much credit. And with all due respect to Vibrasphere, Ticon and the rest of the scando gang, we should support our artists, and so should the organizers.

The thing goes like this. The Q isn't if Necton are better then Lish but will Necton atract more people then Lish, Necton have an album and more then a dozen 12" released, lish have 2 tracks on comps and that's it. so there is more chance that people will know Nekton. then, When Necton play in Sweden they get paid very little, compared to Forgein artists that come and play there, and We have had parties when the Import DJ got paid the same as the Israeli ones. it's all a Question of how much does a person want to play and how much is a promoter interested in that name in his party. Arie when you're as well known as XV Kilist then you can also start asking for 500$ per set.
Also alot of the more underground DJ's only come to play 1 set, not 4-5 It's been a long time since I heard someone geting out of here with 3000$ (Last time it was anti last Indie day).
Think of it.

in my free time me & some frineds making a party's for the kid's (16-18 years old) we do it for the money...  we start 2 do it lest year we make 3 party and alot of money the praice's was:

for YAHEL at the 1st party we pay - 1500$

for GOBLIN we pay -700$

and for OFORIA  we pay -smething like 3000 NIS.

eny party cast "as" 25,000 - 30,000 nis

my point here is thet evry artis have his oun praice...

so if some 1 come 2 a gig here in israel he have a parice for it... and he well take how much thet hi think thet he worth...

for me (JustLikeDance) it:
i like german/sweeden music and ready to pay some extra for it. in fact iys the reason that take me out of home. i get out for music that i prefer. sometimes it could be nice (not perfect but..) to hear Ofer Dykovsky & Avi Algernati (last saturday for example) in some jublee type party. as i know Israely dj's have not soo bad money (400-1000 $$) and its the real price i think.less known dj's just dont have enough work, but its enother question... im sure that unknown (lessknown) europian dj's have same problemm's. we just bring most known dj's online and im not sure we have same level artist into Israel (i dont speak about dinozaurs of israely trance coze they play in the world and get same high price money). as i think way to start/yang dj in israel hard enough but im sure in one thing - if u good = will be all right..

I was told from a guy that orgizes parties, that to bring someone from a forien country costs a lot of money. He told me, that they have to pay for the ticket, a place for him to stay, and the live act. So its not $600

It all depands, do you think Infected, Space cat will ask to be paid the same for playing in N.Y, as they would for playing in Tel-Aviv?

But still ,as Uzi said, Keep a day job.

I think Dr Borris said things real right (as usual). As for the prices i think its more than a $1000 to get a big name from Europe to Israel or even to Greece where i am leaving,i know that from the parties here.As for foreign names, they will always attract more people for another reason,in Israel for example u can hear Lish almost anytime u want but Necton u will have to wait until someone calls him. :)

I think that artists is israel should get the same price as other artist from around the world.
the is a problem in israel that the respect that a dj in israel getsa is 0 nothing and that sucks big time couse instead of pushing your own israeli dj;s forward and give them money the party orgenizers doing the oposit and pushing the other dj's.

nationality is not relevant to this question.
only this 2 points:
1.is the dj worth the money he is asking for.
2.will he bring the crowds.
