i agree with you, Urban.
more and more artists are being influenced by industrial music nowadays.
i don't think it's a "new phase", it's just some new way to produce psytrance. all the others ways still alive and in mind of people involved.
i see a lot of this industrial stuffs in new commers like Celsung (Aldus B) and Catatonic Despair, and the older Datakult and Ghreg on Earth. Xenomorph is more influenced by the EBM side of industrial, but it still industrial. hehe.
wait for new Baphomet Engine sounds, it'll be very mechanical/industrial music!           Obiit - Industrial Ambient

i think some of these producers may have had some roots in industrial and evolved towards psy. really, anything can potentially be more psychedelic. the mind having no boundries except those we believe or accept. it was the darker, dirty metal sounds in some psy that bridged me over from ebm/industrial/goth/rock many years ago so it can't be "new" just more to choose from. (OR there was always a lot to choose from and as our awareness grows so does the perception of our options.) uhh... i haven't smoked today but that sounds good right about now. peace, xoxo, kArO

The industrial end of psy has definitely been around for quite a bit, One of the first artists I ever got into was Xenomorph and Tim Schuldt is still one of my alltime favorites. I've always enjoyed the edgier side of music and coming from Jungle, I've always wanted that to be a part of the music I write. Some of the grittier end of the music really caught my attention, and after leaving melodic cyber trance for jungle, I ended up gravitating toward the grungier sound of things. Everything comes in waves, and when each wave crashes on the beach, it contains the residual energy of the previous wave. Not to mention, I suck at writing melodies....           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

I agree to the fact tht the industrial element has been around for a lil while....but having seen the releases so far this year i feel tht it has had more impact thn the previous years, which is why infact, i started to this topic...just like how the dark and metal sounds tht had evolved couple of years back...
