Dude. Psytrance stands for psychedelic trance. How can trance that is not psychedelic be called psychedelic trance? To me psytrance is everything trance that I find psychdedelic.

so say, you have two tracks by Eskimo. First track is tight, very danceable, and definitely twisted and psychedelic. The other track is also tight, also danceable, but pretty simple - not very psychedelic at all. They are in exactly the same style.. full-on.

and while I agree that majority of full-on is cheesy and redundant, there are quite a few gems even in this sub-genre. Disregarding a whole style of music is pretty silly, imo.. unless it's nitzhonot of course.

Full-On is just a hyper modern/cool version of (Euro-)trance.

Regular psy Trance are the artist who do not use this bass line.
Regular is not a negative word in any way
I hope I made myself clear.

Clear as a blue sky.
So full on is like supersize psy that only fat and stupid people like, yes?

Apart from twisted, can someone tell me what other label is releasing quality Psy these days?

Please don't say NO ONE!

Kire-Naj, hope you don't mind me asking this Q here.

Cheers!

A few years ago I would of said Dragonfly and Tip but I've not been happy with much of their output for some time. My advice would be to target artists as opposed to labels.

I can play you a set of carefully chosen Full-on that will send you tripping into the stratosphere.
it's hard to find, but good full-on definitely exists.

I'd say good music exists in every genre, be it full-on trance, country, folk, classical, blues, whatever.

People should look beyond labels.

Yes, i know. And CharlieBoy is raising some good points, labels can varie alot. It's not always like before when you could buy the whole back catalog of a Label.. And as in country music, theres very little good Full-On in my taste. And it's like as soon as I find a "full-On" band that I do like for it's psychedelic voyage trips. I realize that I cant label it, and that it does sound more like psytrance. But whats psytrance right

btw. There's 10-20 + good labels today that I know of.

at the end of the day music is music.whatever you would like to call it sholdnt matter as the main thing is if it affects you emotionally and physically.Languages can create various borders and differnt sorts of interpritations to words, so if someone likes full on or psytrance it shold not make a differnce as long as they are dancing and giving the right vibe on the dancfloor.

But oh so often music taste reflects the persons personality, and that again reflects the persons vibe. And ... yeah, i know, your right.

I think it's pretty obvious that full-on is a subgenre of Trance not of psy-trance. I mean think of Hypersonic, late Skazi, Father & Son etc... these artists don't even try to be psychedelic, it's just fast trance with rolling base-lines and catchy leads. Now personally I enjoy this kind of trance alot , as I enjoy most kinds of trance (as long as it's not typical eurotrance), but it is not psychedelic trance. Now there is a whole lot of full-on that IS psychedelic, such as Visual Contact, Nissimyani, Tube, RAM etc... this genre is called : full-on psytrance, which is a hybrid between psytrance/goa and full-on. There is exists some confusion over this matter since full-on only appeared through the psy-trance movement, but it could have appeared by itself without any association to psychedelia. That's my opinion on the matter anyway , cheers !
