I've started playing for a non trance crowd in NYC, they give me an hour to play trance and i only played a few times so what came to mind ison those sets was: Cosma, Sub6, BLT. Now comes the question... i'm not sure what to play for these "normal" people.... i come on around 2am and mostly before and after me is hip-hop, r'n'b, some happy house (with vocals) and whatever is super popular and beaty on MTV. Like i said, these peoople cannot digest too much pumping psyness... i once tried an astrix tune and just stopped dancing...

i wanna keep it interesting... yet not pounding or aggressive, any recommendations?

normal ppl can't dance music they do not know and which is opposite from what they heard before ....

if they will like it move to psychedelic progressive like Atmos and fellaz

I would also suggest playing some Electric Tease or anything the Tim Healy and Mark Allen have done. They have that housey type feel to them and it might just open them to more along those lines.. I would definitely stick to some of the more tribal minimal sounding stuff.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

i call them "normal" only because i mean it as a substitute for a lengthy definition i dont want to repeat each time...
these people have never heard of psy-trance in their lives... around 600-700 each time so i think the exposure to it is good in America, but im trying to be careful not to lose them... that's why im here asking for your input.

sexy music is what their alcoholic sex crazed minds desire.

Timetech - Sensuality, Cosma, Violet Vision, Sub6... Maybe Bamboo Forest - Step by Step, Infected - Elation Station, Triptych - Celtych (but it's still unreleased).

I have the same problem around here...
I believe it works better if you make an intense mix, playing only around 2 minutes of some tracks.

Wanna sexy music? Play the "Clit Commander"

back on topic - check out Manmademan - sexy stuff.. also, GMS never fails to get 'normal' people dancing. Talamasca also great for that - anything with [cheesy] melodies will work. Just don't ever play anything with a rolling bassline.
