ok, so here goes:
when u hear a new track for the 1st time and you like it you go: "wow" "ahh" "ohh" "yeah" "yey" *smile* *jump* and the list goes on....(if you hear it for the 1st time at a party and you like it you might even go crazier)
Now, after you hear it about 100 times: at home, at work , at school , hummm it at line to the cashier at the super-market and etc... it get's BORINGGGGG.
[b]BUT[/b] ( and here is the dramatic "BUT" ), there are many tracks that you can hear 500 times ([i]just for refernce, let's say the avarage track is 7 minuets? 7 and a half prehaps.... listening to it 10 times = 7.5 X 10 = 70 + 50 = 120 = 2 hours... 2 hours of listening to the same freakin track.... same freakin sounds... same breaks, same feelings , though the feelings and emotions develope as u listen more and more... sometimes eventualy die...[/i]) and not get sick of them... enjoy them everysingle time, discover new parts and smiles at the sounds that make u nuts.
so, the discussion i am bringing up here is:
What makes it boring? why are some boring after 5 listens ALLTHOUGH you loved the track! but can't hear it no more... , why can u hear a track 1000 times and still love it? why do you wait for your beloved track to be played by the D.J when u party? why ? :)
I personnaly don't have a clue, but i am sure it's much much more deeper than : "i like this " "i don't like this".
another point is : you never get bored of shitty pop, u can hear the same stupid rythm melody and awfull vocals 12398132092318 times and still feel like a moron) it varies depends on what music but nothing lasts longer than Classical music and Trance.

Hmmm....
i think its all about the story that the track tells, and the way that the sounds effect each other... and you.
and may-b its the way that it effects on our brain/heart... and how deep it goes in :)
but im realy not sure :)

it depends on dependant dependings
imo it cannot be discussed, there is no structure or architecture you can build to define track that would be boring or not..
it all depends..there are some old talamsca tracks that i like till now (just an example to something i don't connect to nowadays), same with almost all..I think this is all about spirit inside or story as other calls..but this is me.

ya i thought about that... we are all different and there are SOooooooooo many sounds... perhaps the tracks with the effects and sounds that click your brain exactly on the right spots are addictive or something... |

btw.. Cosma i didn't like VERY much in the beginning, when just got album, i knew it's brilliant and very very good and professional, but only today, after 200000 times i played it in my MD I am ready to say it's really WOW, AH and FUCKING awesome album;)
sometime the truth and understanding comes later, sometimes it never comes or comes with 1st sounds of the track...like once i fell in love with Dandandado's track only at 1st seconds when heard that brillian space dust sample;)
(About MDs--> i am too lazy to change discs every day, usually i put some disc for week or two) |

Ron, it's personal info and offtopic
but anyway, i do listen my MD a lot..
at least 1 hour each day and when i am going out shopping all overloaded and stoned, i take with me couple of discs...
Btw 2 weeks ago i 1st time discovered the REAL cosma, when it was raining on friday and nobody was out, only some ppl with ambrellas..i was walking all along with loud cosma inside me, and then i discovered real sound;) walking in the rain + music, it's the best! |

i didn't talk about that, i talked about what makes YOU be able to listen to some track 1000 times and to others 5 times and get sick of them, allthough you love both tracks.
i think it's depends on how addictive you get so certain breaks, melodies, strings and storeis.
the more it's addicting you will want to hear it more and never have enough... ====> sound is addictive?
fuck, we can get addicted to almost anything huh?

any state of weather that isn't "normal" ( in the everyday - all the day aspect of normal) + trance is overwhelming.
that's true...

guys,
I hit the train every fucking day - and I do'nt have any player to listen to trance through the ride :(((
so soon, maybe on 2002 first day, I"ll just go and buy me a new RioVolt SP250 - black and fine - with 650Mb CD of mp3s :)
I won't need to change the discs... I"ll just change them every week - after listening to 60 tracks! :)

Trance = good
Snow = bad
Desert = good
Snow + Trance = :(
Desert + Trance = :D
Conclusion: Desert is the perfect atmosphere for trance :-)
Now what makes a track more interesting is having more sounds and little details that you discover each time you listen to it. Minimal tracks get boring quickly because you hear it once and that's all.. Nothing to discover. Goa is better, lots of stuff to discover!
