I remember reading this article and I have to say that I agree with most of what was written, I especially liked the part about Eyal Barkan taking all the Arsim from the good parties and giving them a place to celebrate together. I never thought of it that way. So, Please Eyal come back! We miss you! (yuck! I can't believe I just wrote that) :)

Well, let's take 2 points that everyone agrees about in here.

A) Arsim go to parties where Eyal Barkan is a DJ.

B) People move from Eyal Barkan and Nitzhonot to what we call "real" psytrance.

Maybe, just maybe, someone other than me can make that huge leap that maybe a lot of the arsim started with Eyal Barkan, and then discovered the other side of trance.

Maybe, just maybe, he brought a whole lot more arsim than he ever took away, since he can only be at one party at one time.

And this is from the 2 points that are "pro-Barkan"

Asaf, go listen to cosma and Astrix. they started as Nizchonot kids, Cosma was part of Diablo and Astrix was doing upright "tachana merkazit" stuff. and where r they today.
as to the arsim, arsim that changed I really like, they give good vibes to parties. arsim that didn't change don't come to psy parties, they don't like the darker stuff.

Few points I wanna raise here:

A) Eyal Barkan is absolutely NOT the man behind the music by any means, his albums, from Good Morning to Mr. Club Trance are simply a compilations which are very potential best seller.
It's weird, but it's truth, most of his last album is made by Yahel Sherman (Yahel), and again a best seller was born. This is a very good character that Eyal Barkan has, he knows where to go and what to buy in order to make a best seller.

B)
even Infected started as "nitzhonot" artists
Basically, this is a wrong thing to say. Infected, back then Shidapu (Izen) and Duvdev (Duvdevani) [and Shiva (Kessler)], invented this style using Impulse Tracker - the mother of the best nitzhonot track, and then Eyal & Holymen did what they did and gathered those young guys's tracks (including Domestic's) to a one big.. best seller.
And what is the implication of all this? The known fact that almost every child in our country, even in my age (:)), likes Eyal Barkan's music, which is other's music.

C) I have waited a long time holding this thought. I have noticed that almost every good  nitzhonot tracks maker becomes a fresh grown-up talent psy maker and the list includes Izen, Duvdevani, Kessler, Dvir, Litvak. And I really don't know what is it about it that improves those artists that much.

BOM!

eyal barkan|holymen must be an entirely israeli phenomenon, because i have been listening to trance for many years and have never really heard the name mentioned.
btw, my introduction to trance was through the old platipus stuff (union jack, terra ferma, art of trance...) and MWNN..
