Actually, in europe, and esspecially in UK, the term 'trance' thought to be the most immature kind of 'underground' electronic genre - dissed by most electronic musicians in UK (tiesto etc thought to be trance). So the small addition of the 'psy' word really makes a big difference in showing what kind of trance we are talking about here.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Agmis, and anyone else wondering what issue this came out in: This is a thread I started 18 months ago and was bumped so if you are looking for a copy of this (at the library maybe or on an online database) be sure to start around May of 2002.

Boy, how times have changed.           Both teams played hard

At the parties in New York I am usually the only American in attendance. Ive found though, that the best way to introduce someone is by dragging them to a party or festival and having them experience everything full force.

Absolutely, without the word psy it's not the same music scene at all.

Yeah also being in the UK I'm with Trip- ... every time I mention psytrance to non-psytrance heads, i'm very clear to say "psytrance" because otherwise they will think Sash or ATB and dismiss it as a total joke.

Personally call me cynical but I sadly doubt there are many Rolling Stone readers who will rush out and get the IM back catalogue because of this... Still, always nice to see things get a bit of credit           http://www.dartrecordings.co.uk/

I believe there is no Genre called "Trance". It is a state of mind, and whichver music takes u this state is Trance.

What we listen to is eletronics Music sometimes engineered in such a way that would create a 3D effect under influence of drugs or meditation . And this effect is amazing and out of imagination of clean people. Thats why we know why we like this most and why cant all psytrance be commercialised.

Flute is one of the high class natural or real trance.
