@InnerAlchemy

A DJ is the person who selects and mixes the music - The rest, is whatever you make it.

I can predict a dancefloors reaction, thats they way I work - Others like to look to the dancefloor to see how it reacts to music. People work in different ways. Personally I do not have to see people dancing to know what music will work well when, others do however need it
.
No matter what, I can always start selecting tracks on the fly if I want to - but really, for me, thats just being lazy and not doing your homework. (this goes for me, and me alone, every DJ has his/her own approach - called style)

There is only one rule in Djing , "whatever works, works" - and besides that, I will just quote Montauk P and say definition is limitation - so dont make up rules about how DJs should work

Best Wishes

Spoken well & I completely agree.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

@basilisk

Well, not counting the time I spend scouting for new tracks I would say perhaps 1-3 days typicly.

Working on it something like 2-3 hours every day.

However, if you do count finding tracks for the pool, it would be something like between 2 - 4 weeks. Its sort of hard to say, because I always scout for new tracks in both full on, progressive & chillout subgenres... Meaning, I dont work towards just 1 specific set.
However, I tend to be able to create 3 sets every 3 months with which I am normally satisfied, so 2-4 weeks per genre might be somewhat accurate.

I have to do my best with the time I have at hand for the given task. The more time spend ressearching & preparing, the better the set will be.

Longest Ive ever worked on a set would be 5-10 days.

Best Wishes

I live in Ibiza, here the psytrance dj's are very closed, they have very pop tracklists. I don't agree with these people but the dancefloor demands it. I repeat, im a newbie and im learning djing. Thnx all people for the comments and soon u will see a new tracklist that i worked more. I wish to all people understand my english, sorry for it.            Dance like nobody's watching you.

I think it's not good, if you had written the bpms of each track by it's side you'll notice you're going up and down...

Thats just boring bullox man.
A really boring and "typical" Full-On DJ-set would have had the same as you want, exact the same flow and bpm
throu-out their set.
But no one wants that. It's just boring..

My sets shall include many variations in feelings and emotion. My sets are gonna be dripping of trippy vibes

WOW.. you people are crazy spending days to prepair your sets.. shit, hahaha.. i wish i had that kind of leisure at home.. hahahaha.. I spin about 2 hours a week at home on my radio show completly improvised and at all my gigs its the same deal, only i tend to remember those 2 hours practice i did on the radioshow to guide me..

I've spend over 12 hours putting together a DJ mix once, but that was for a good cause

I'll very often play out track's i've never even heard before also, like one's that just arrived from Saikosounds and i didn't have enough time to play with them yet...

But like Krell said, there is no right way to DJ and rules are stupid and i've learnt that over the years.. just do what works best for you as a DJ and for the Crowd..

Good luck !           "VA - REWIRED" OUT NOW !! (techtrance invasion) ---> http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/86303/forum/9

@Yonkie if i look at the playlist you only have chosen tracks with very hard kicks. I think people can listen to tracks like GMS or 1200 mics but not 3 hours. Put tracks that have normal kicks like most oldschool psytrance tracks.
