I have heard from much x-trancers saying: "psychedelic? oh no I am to old for psy,I prefer to listen prog,house,chill out.."
And when I say to them: "I still listen,and go to parties also" they freak and say: "WHAT?? are u insane bro,how could u,ur are not a boy anymore,be serious"
How do u see this retirement?
What do u think abou this reaction?
Are u gonna act like this way one day in the future?

Well, it depends on the “psy” in question. But to old? As a younger man I listened to a lot of "Euro-trance" (Euro-trance ain't that bad in the 90's - Trust me). But I fast grew to old for it and wen't deeper inside the world of Metal/Rock. Reason for me to like psychedelic (returning to trance)trance was mainly because of Isratrance (music, not forum), it gave me a BIG variation in beats ect. Something that I missed in "trance". Often when people ask (especially in Norway since "trance" dunk dunk is taboo in it self) what taste I have. I feel a shamed to say psy-trance because they only hear the word "trance" and they have NO idè of what PSY is. So yes, I do feel that it is a genre with some shame (age). But love is love. And nothing can change my love. Hope I made some sense, because I see non.
I understand your friends, because my friends are the same. They listen to styles that are more (some how) acceptable. Trip-Hop, Deep-House, “real” music with instruments ect. .. But hey. Psychedelic IS addictive. So if the bed bug has gotten a bite. Your hooked. Maybe one day I’ll get fed up. Doubt it though.

Hell yeah I'm insane, we're all insane. To become unsane one has to pass and see his or her own insanity. .. Not a boy any more? What do you mean? The world of psychedelia knows no time, room or space. It is not connected to your "earth" time. It is outside time and it's rules (supposed to anyway). it is timeless.

Well people grow and cant stand music on 145 easily on their ears anymore,specially todays music which is bad music on 145+ heh.
I am just 24 years old and i cant listen to psy trance on 145 more than an hour at home.
People just change i guess.

thanks bro u make feel not old,because I am not,I feel almost the same crazyness as I was feeling before a decade(and sometimes lit bit more craz..),the soul never gets old...only a marriage with a woman and kids could change my view here...
it is like saying to me why dont u wear a suit? no way only in my wedding or in my funeral..

The endless discussion about Psy vs. Prog is in fact not a matter of taste, but a clash of generations..
Before Psytrance I used to listen to rough techno, and now like Pavel beyond let's say 136 bpms I can't stand it any more.. Sometimes in parties/festivals yes, but never at home.
I need my vibe to be "slow", fat & steady

I will be 37 in 2 weeks so....?
I listen psy at 120bpm and also at 150bpm
I listen speedcore at 400bpm constantly for long hours (home/party)
Why ? Bcouse i love energy!

I believe it's a matter of taste...
the fact that you are getting older not necessarily means that you will get tired of "fast" music, or won't stand it.
i think that it is related to the time you've been listening to full on, once in the past years it has became uncreative and boring, repetitive and so on...
if you listen to full for 10 years, let's say, you are probably tired of it and might consider listen to other music styles, such as prog, chill... |

Well, my music taste has changed a lot since I was 16. hasn't yours? The essence of my taste has always been the same I guess. But still, a change has happen. Thank God, or I might still be digging 2 Brothers on The 4th Floor  .. I remember thinking a lot on the subject; "Will I still like this music when I am old and grandpa like?". Will I have like the kewlest grandpa music taste ever? Elvis and Beatles was once considered noise music for that generations parents. It's all about generations and what they like and think is right. No one is right, no one is wrong? Oh how soledaric of me.

when you reach the levels of my grand daddyness you will listen to electronic dance music at home (or anywhere else, i just realized) for maybe a couple of hours/MONTH
