i hope i won't react like that, but it is a fact that age makes u listen to slower, more emotional songs...

In fact, i noticed this long ago, because if u look at artists who have been making music for a long time, when they are in they're twenties they make very active danceable music, but then it slows down during they're 30s and 40s and at 50 they don't play dance music anymore, almost only emotional songs... If u look at discographies of jazz artists for example u notice this immediately... Ray charles for example made his most danceable songs in the beginning of his career ('what i say' for example), and when he got older his music slowed down gradually... And then u get songs like 'georgia on my mind'. Louis armstrong, quincy jones, etc etc.. they all went this way...

well, i know plenty of people in their late 30's, 40's, and 50's who listen to psytrance all the time.

it's just like people say they're too old to trip, smoke, drink, etc etc etc. they have jobs, buy houses, cars, etc, get comfortable and set in their ways, and don't want anything to bother them or, god forbid, shake them out of their semi-retirement. So comes easy listening, weather channel, and one glass of wine with dinner. Consumer society 1 - You 0.

But that's still a choice people make for themselves and it has nothing to do with the consumersociety.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

i am young, and don't like fast music

i don't own a car, a house, i never drank like that or a glass of wine in the evening, don't watch the weather channel, do like easy listening (if we're talking about the 60's kitsch sound) AND don't listen to psy-trance at home cause it DOESN'T shake me out of semi-retirement, rather leads me towards it with it's total lack of imagination.

i'm also betting my boots that it's the party-hardy progressive/full-on etc. folks who're doing the consuming. clubbing is expensive and you have to get some bling to impress the botox lipped blonde at the bar

so who is who again?

show me somone who can really listen at his house to stuff above 150bpm and his over 30, gotta be special or it's just me, and yeah everything is influenced by our society and what the majority does, depends on the people features if he doesn't care what people will say and on his taste, but fuck yeah I wish i had some grandfather who listened to trance or to some quality music

I am 36, I have been playing since 89. I started playing mellow and then I played hardcore, and gabber, D&B. Then I played trance, acid trance, hard trance and finally goa trance which was much slower... then I played isratrance and then all the tech psy trance... X-dream, FAT, COP... then trance went mellow and scandinavian, so I ended playing Acid techno... Smittens, Hydraulix, Havoc, Routemaster, Baloonheads, Stayup forever... then I played hard techno, Adam Beyer, Kay D Smith, Johannes Heil... Then I played Night time psy trance... which for a while led me to buy progressive, morning and chill. Where do i stand now... Well on one side I play night time, on the other side I play electro. So what do I get out of this Hard does not have to do with youth, it depends on your state of mind, the music released, the time itself. Now I want music which includes harmony and melody with a techno groove. It feels new to me and I like the music. Now i will play night time psy trance in special ocassions where I know ppl, the experience and myself are going to experience it to the fullest... and we all know those are very particular ocasions.

How do u see this retirement?

Are u gonna act like this way one day in the future?

Im not too sure i l be able to pop mdma and dance like a hippy in front of the speaker smiling at everyone when Im like in my 50's.. but instead, Il be sipping on some scotch and smiling at all the young girls..
and most definitely, I ve decided my lifetime savings are gonna be spent mostly in travelling, and organising parties with free entry and water...
Nothing is said that has not been said before.
