Ibet that if u have a big curtain, most party people wouldn't b able 2 tell if there is a Dj behind or an winamp player.
Trying 2 b unique all the time, or thinking this is missing and this could b done differently has it's advantages but can b very exhausting.
On the other hand being part of a crowd has it's own advantages, like getting uplifted by the energy of the crowd, or just being instead of thinking all the time y am I here.
There is a time 4 everything- Adjustments, Improvements and sometime just plain Existence.
Nothing will ever b exactly like u want it 2 b otherwise everything will get boring very quickly.Check Adam and Eve, if only they were not so bored we'll b still living in heaven walking naked and eating fruit all day....
"... Just don't eat from the apple tree!" was that so diffcult?

whoever is "interesting" usually miss the masses need for "shirim pshootim" and a trance party is where a masses of people partying, and not where sofisticated people get impressions from outstanding talents, WHAT TO DO???

Almost one year later and I've figured it out for me...
I AM the crowd at big festivals but I am NOT the crowd in weekend parties and at home!
I'm tired to write now, but here it goes... If I listen to GMS or Astrix playing at a festival, with all that overwhelming vibe, vibrant people, favorable daily mood, desire to live intensively, around crazy lovely people, THAN I do dance like mad. And almost EVERYONE does... Full-on has the power to carries you quickly to that point where you enter into the music, with no need of waiting. The g'old crowdy crowd crowding around...
However, if I'm at home or at a regular party I DEFINATELY am not the crowd. It's not a big thing you know... So I expect extra non-cliche/innovative/flowy/"groovy/melodic" tracks. If someone plays GMS or Astrix I fall asleep and it just doesnt feel right. That's when I want and look for something done especially for me, that takes me into trance and not back into my car.
I'll write more l8r... I've concluded several things about this issue and those damn old chronical topics (prog vs full on vs ..., trading, where is the vibe?, bla bla bla) It may all be just bull crap but at least it IS fresh and new!
That's what people do when they are in long vacation, waiting for their new pc to be build with the old pc's major hardware, before being able to travel and with girlfriend away... All that, especially, when the car's hardware is also away to be fixed and a fu**** diarrea. Who cares? I would hope you all do...

I'm not the crowd. I'm that crazy guy jumping in the middle of the crowd... 
In 90% of the cases I only go to a party if there's a DJ that play the kind of music I like. Or if people I trust tell me it's worth to give a try. So if I like the music and enjoy the dj mixes, why not dance? And where to dance? In a place you hear the music... Where you hear the music? In the front of the sound system... Where the crowd is? In the front of the sound system too...
So I'm myself, the crowd is the crowd, we're at the same place (in front of the sound system), does it makes me the crowd? I don't know...

im sure agree on the "unique style from every dj", im up for it.
but on the other hand when u position yourself as "im not a crowd", mean all like one and me like two, then if u think about it its same with djs or every another substance. there is no 1 chance to have something that is 100% original and never repetive, so..
but idea of only super sets i like alot

well , i just wanted to raise a question here whether is this so obvious that ppl (in general) like(and that much!!) to hear well known hits at parties ... but remembering screams of orgazma each time Space Booggie is played (and sometimes i add my voice too  ) put aside any doubts , that's a fact . and no wonder that many dj's do what ppl on the dancefloor love , not what they love . and we can't blame them for this ... so it comes to the quality of crowd now , what are its needs ...writing this post (very interesting one  ) you were probably inspired by israeli mass's and dj's orrientation ... and a good dj - well imho and i guess you agree with this too must first of all play the music he wants to play .. but as i said it's not fair to blame them - coz there are ppl that do not agree with me and you and think that a good dj has to play tracks they want to hear .. one that finds the gold middle satisfying both these and those - well , he's a good ,a professional dj .. a really rememberable set will allways depend on a mixture of things , like your enviroment , beside a dj and i claim that in those top favorite sets u "are the crowd" .. not nesaccerily digging holes near speakers in dust of total karahana but at least in your heart you would like to be "the crowd"..
