He wrote some amazing books of which my favourites would be Hell's Angels, Rum Diary and Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas. He was also a correspondent to quite a few magazines. You can actually see the man in Fear & Loathing when Depp goes like "Sweet jesus that's me!" And looks at the guy in the table..

The "Fear and Loathing in Las Vagas" book is much better that the film imho.
Also the audio clips from the film have been sampled a lot is psy traks - like:
"You can turn your back on a person, but you can never turn your back on a drug"
(I think in a 1200 mics trak)
Anyway RIP Hunter S. Thompson. |

He was obsessed with guns and weapons, spending his days in his fortified home in colorado, shoting away on anything around him.
Dont know why he put a bullet between his eyes, but for all I know he was a freak, and not a very happy one.
Didnt really do any writing for the last years of his life, the books and articles that made him big are all from the 60`s and early 70`s.
He was a great writer. |

Maybe he killed himself because he resented the fact he didn't have any good inspiration anymore? Or maybe it was the fact he hated the world and where it's going??? We'll probably never know. R.I.P. Mr. Thompson.
