Here is on of the Italians you've been looking for!
Psy-scene is very lively, has a long history (I think first parties were in 95) but it's still too disorganized (even if it looks like things are changing). So we only seldomly have big events or foreign acts.
Number of live local acts is still very small (Hirani are a name to keep an eye on)
Most happening cities are certainly Bologna and Rome but the whole Toscany, Lombardia (Milano), and Veneto region are not bad too.
The indoor season has just finished and from now to end september all parties will be indoor.
Parties around the Bologna area are mostly on the Appenines mountains, and some of the locations can be breathtaking.
Average number of people to parties is 200-1000.
After many years of minimal, Italy has embraced full on.
All the community get information on the parties from www.goabase.de which is always updated and the best site on the web to get information on what's going on in Italia.
Biggest event is the Bologna Street Rave Parade (next is sat the 3rd of July), a massive crazy event (last year 100.000 people) with 70-80% of the soundsystems dedidacted to Psytrance. Highly recommended!!

The "tribe" organizing the party is one of those with the "few parties but good" attitude.

In my opinion the best live act are HIRANI from Bologna (who also feature a "real" bass player). Really causing a buzz over here.
Hope that they'll release a cd soon
Other act I know of are FLUOROPRANKESTERS from Naples, but I never listened to them.
Proably there are 1-2 more acts but I'm not sure.
As you can see it's not much but I think things are changing...

Just to say that I said a few big bullshits in my previous messages: here is the lineup of a festival (also listed in isratrance) with a real international line up...and big names!!!
It's the first time that something like that happens in Italy.
Also in the line up you'll notice many more names of Italian live acts.
Loopus in Fabula are Italians? Did not know that!
Well...sorry for that...here are details of the festival...location still to be revealed but will be on a beach!

The parties are really week.Only this year it started slowly to grow up,but the level of trance culture in italy is more than low,and if there are any parties,usually its disuster.
