in 1995,1996, even 1997, when there were not enough good computers and software to make music...

how people created psytrance??
how Hallucinogen managed to create "Twisted" without a computer??
same for MFG, "The Prophecy"
Astral Projection - Trust IN Trance 3....           u can find "Anything U Want" using the search...

Cubase (which is nothing more than a highly developed MIDI sequencer, people keep forgetting). Just with 100% synthesizers and samplers instead of software.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Wow pentium 3 was released 199?
I guess the computer evolution has slowed after that           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

There were those using hardware sequencers even - when no computers were really needed.
That's the purpose of huge studios with different synths to play at the same time - via MIDI - what today can do one multitimbral VSTi.

no quiet true.
the first p3 was at 450 mhz.
now p4 is at 2.2 ghz or even more.
and the technology got smaller.
much smaller.
so the progress continue...
and will get more powerfull with time..

Forget that message..
It's just that hod gavriel had misspelled 1999 as just 199.           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

well

there is on important point, since the time of
high-fast-processors and the fact that people are
able to download production-software from the internet we got a lot of newcomers and new acts.

its not so expensive to make music now...
talented people have a chance and i think we
will hear a lot in the next years. more new stuff
than ever... maybe new styles..

but - yes i know this wasnt the question of the topic - is it possible to animate the scene into
a new style of trance, havent heared before??

remember the xdream-album "radio" was really
a revolution. this album changed something

"Everybody deserves a 15 minutes of fame" Andy Warhol
BTW the first ones that used 100% electronic equipment for their music were Kraftwerk. Their first album was released in 1970 and they had really huge impact on artists from a wide range of genres. Starting from Africa Bambataa (Rap) through Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson (Detroit Techno) and to Air.
They did amazing stuff back then with the unstable equipment they used.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

What about Impulse Tracker? This program is running on DOS. But even before, as Ninja said, Kraftwerk performed very well without any smart machines, just an electronic equipment.           Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

there was good computers for making music even in the early 90s

Atari 1040st - was the main one used, with hardware synths and smaplers...

also Amigas and PCs and some old Yamaha computer, apparently raja ram used one...
