Hello People...

Nowadays im listening too much progressive stuff...and i was thinking: how can i make a kiiler prog set??

I woundered about this situation: starts with progressive house, going trhow electros and finish at a psy progressive songs..

What do you think about??

Would you people use another kind of sequence??

Well, I think its up to the tracks to be compatible. So perhaps your flow there would work, with the right tracks and the right mixing + the right setting.

However, I think I would dance to the Progressive House, wonder wtf was up with the Electro - and then be confused to hear Progressive Psy all of a sudden Perhaps I picture it differently in my mind than you.

I dont think you do not need to ask people this though, mix a set, try it out - if your still unsure, put the set online and ask again what people think.

Best Wishes

its all about rises and falls, make your entire set progress like one individual track. the whole is analogous to the sum of one part.

I like to start with progressive house move into psyprogressive/minimal and then psytekk but only with around 3 hrs at my disposal. for an hour and a half i just stick with prog/tech house with a tribal feel           ein chadash tachat hashemesh. there is nothing new under the sun. --kohelet.

If it's a long set starting off the beginning of the night, I like to start out with more tribal/tech-house, move on to some lighter progressive stuff (groovy, housey), then work in some more psy-prog sounds (Iboga) with the intensity & bpms gradually increasing. If the DJ afterwards is playing psytrance/full-on, it's fun to bang out the last 30 minutes or so with some nice groovy psy sounds (Bamboo Forest, Voice of Cod, etc).

I'd start electro, then move towards the house, to finish with progressive..

Good luck and looking forward to that demo.

i´ve heard a live set from Bitmonx 3 or 4 years ago and it was something else. i remember it as if it was today and few psichedelic or full on lives i´ve heard had that quality.

they started with a kind of track 6 or 7 minutes of just pure disconnected noise frequencies no music at all, but when the kick started there wasn´t one single person that stoped jumping till the end of the live.

something to remember indeed

thats one method chaos theory, in addition to what i said earlier I will add that if its morning after a long night of darkness is start with some sensient, move on to some sensient than lay down a killer sensient track and end up with some sensient           ein chadash tachat hashemesh. there is nothing new under the sun. --kohelet.

I would just play the music and try to mix it over and over again Talking will get you nowhere. You need to play the tracks and you will get an idea of what fits or not. Make it fun and groovy for yourself to doof and jiggle... Or you can wait for others to talk about how you should mix.

Start with something to get people into the mood, a track like: Airwave - Ladyblue (Markus Schulz Remix) and then start 'connecting' from there. Connecting is the right word here, you have to connect tracks to each other to make sure the flow doesn't get lost. Go from light to heavier and then back down again to the smooth melodic finish. Gets people everytime. Good luck trying this and let us know what the results were...           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. maybe it's not my favourite genre(even though I played progressive for $$$ for years)but from my point of view start with abstract sounds like freq nasty, unkle, shadow for the first twenty minutes in order to drown the crowd into your trip, then move to some big beat(junkie xl always makes the crowd moving),then move to some tech-house and boom! start the progressive thing!u know the progressive crowd is really tired listening to the same tracks all the time so from times to times throw some psy-oriented stuff like atmos(2nd brigade era),oxyd,SBK,cujorious one, chris pointdexter, hinz and kunz, human blue(when I played the rollercoaster trax everyone was like $$%&^###&%$^%$^%),purple and ronan, tim healey and even the lighter trax from sub6!u'll be the king of their night
