How to get a gig in the US?

If there's one place I'd really, really like to gig it'd be in the US. How easy is it for artists from outside the country to come over? |

friendly scene...
it varies what kind of music is favored in the day and night by region or even more so, city...so here's a list of a few festivals happening to get an idea of what ppl like and for "how underground parties are..." i have no idea...they are usually outdoors but above ground, unless you have some heady mole holes to rage in?

Thanks dude, line-ups remind me of a Johannesburg party - Cape Town is definitely more full-on, never really going over 150bpm at the big parties. - There is a darkpsy following getting that's getting bigger by the season here. You should come over sometime.
And by underground, I'm basically asking if they're events holding legal permits that get left alone or if police interference is a problem

i mean, cops come some times, but as long as you have either A) have legit permits, or B) a legit venue that is private property, with contracts and what have you.

The biggest issue is the plane ticket. If the plane ticket wasn't so expensive even from Europe, things would be a bit easier. However, it is possible to arrange a tour between multiple cities. If you find a cheap enough ticket or are willing to cover your own flight to the US, I'm sure there would be people willing to have you play a show or two. Play booty house and drive around with a "posse" of girls and tough looking Jersey Shore lookalikes who work out too much. Also be able to have at least 250 people show up to every gig. Music is secondary.
