depends. you can take the dry, simplistic, minimal techno and combine it with trance, but you gotta be real good at it.
i for one don't like techno and minimal stuff all that much, tho shanti's opening set back than in ashdod coast made me pump my legs.

It depends Huja- if it's good, I like it. If it's not, I don't.

I have reached a conclusion about tech trance - Its the music I love the most when cleaning the house or dish washing. better then Sarit Hadad or Eyal Golan.
In general I agree with Tomer.

I prefer techno music (hardcore) over trance music. If combined together, it's even better

tech-trance is kinda boring (in general).
if i want REAL techno i will listen to REAL techno - in trance i am looking for something else
most techno trance i know is mainly rubbish.

Tech trance is boring. Period. Just a kick, bassline a few snares and a hi-hat here and there. Where's the music in that?

imo tech trance is gooooodddd,
it's not boring, even if it minimalistic in sounds
it comes good for me in another way exploring,
i dont think that indian/african/any native raves wich have only drums are boring, when i hear that style in parties it brings me to that native minimal diggin no much work for the brain but
the heart and soul are diggin.. :-)

Yeah, guys, everyone of us can found few good tracks even in TechTrance. Minimalistic samples can express something different, than you are regular to understand from it.

About the minimal trance.. I think when you aviod from playing melodies in your trax - you must replace their place with something else which might be tribal drums (i.e: Ticon - Mona Bone) or a killer rythem (i.e: Ticon - We Are The Mammoth Hunters) or whatever will pop up in the artist's mind but it must be original and quality at the same time.
