In israel, my good friend met this girl, her brother was listening to psy trance, at that time we were anti electronic music, because we thought that music that wasn't made by natural instruments was junk. But then her brother gave us this tape.. it was back in 97-98, looks like it was the most amazing peace of electronic music he ever heard. - He loved it from the first time he heard it. I was listening to house/prodigy/other pop at that time. I heard the tape first time, couldn't digest the material, was too complicated.
It was like that for 3 months or so, there were no new tapes. Slowly i started to understand what i was about.
That CD by the way, was "TIP ONE".
Three months after i heard "TIP ONE"
We went to tower records and bought MOKSHA - Thee Psychochemical experience, and then the experience started...

BOM!!!           Life is music, Life is in a constant
TRANCE. Therefore TRANCE is the music of life.

I was always into electronic music. Started with stuff like Prodigy, Chemical brothers, Underworld. Later i explored Jungle and breakbeat and when i saw that this music has no future i switched to Trance. I always wanted to understand what it was all about and several times i even tried to dig it (i had Concept in Dance vol 2 CD, that i won in Radio show with Ella Gotman.). But most of the time it was unfruitful, until one day i heard a radio show in Galgalatz (leading israely pop radio station) with Astral Projection. It was a special broadcast that promoted their new album, "another world". And from this moment i was hooked. Next sunday i bought Another World and found it indeed. The next 3 years was nothing but Psy Trance. Well maybe some Radiohead, Korn and REM in between
But lately i got quite tired from this music. I think the next logical step would be Classical music or maybe some oldie tunes that i falling in love lately.
Maybe Pink floyd or Beatles, who knows...           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

I started listening to "techno" at age 12 (around 91-92) with techno volumes 1 and 2. then i didnt start going to "rave" parties until i was 17. I got a computer and an internet connection in 1997 when someone told me that i would like this style of music called psychedelic goa trance ( i was a junglist at the time) and i found mp3s of Hallucinogen and Cosmosis. I even downloaded rebirth and Hammerhead and started making music right there. It changed my life forever.           Anomaly

I'm sorry but it will be a bit long...

- Around 1986, i started to watch Canal + and especially , the Saturday a musical TV show called « Top 50 ».
At this time, litlle by little i get interessed in music.
Spring 1987, i discover in this TV show something totally new for me, it was M.A.R.R.S – Pump up The Volume and each weeks i was waiting for seeing the clip. From This moment, quickly i understood i was enjoying danceable productions and started to listen to acid-house and eurodance (lots of commercial stuffs).

- Up to november 1989, i didn’t listen to radio. And one day , i saw an advertising for a local radio in my secondary school,it was something about Xmas in order to help poor familly to give their children gifts.
Indeed at this time, i was just discovering the FM. Since then, i used to listen a lot to radio and i’m still.
Between some local radios and nationnal techno specialized ones (Maxximum then M 40). At this epoque, i surely listen to my first euro-trance track whithout knowing it (probably Age Of Love – Age Of Love) coz the animators of techno radio show weren’t very talkactive and only mixing.

- I was still enjoying eurodance but in 1993-94, this was the time when i could put the name of Trance on what i is was more liking with Dance 2 Trance and then lots of other like Cosmic Baby, Jam & Spoon (Follow Me). At the same period , my parents get a minitel (a french ancestor of internet, only french people can really understand what is it). I was on a server with lots of forums and with techno-rave one.
On this forum , all the french pepole were talkin’ about a techno magazine which was new : Coda ( a bimestrial at the epoque).
I search it in my town but didn’t find it, coz was still a too underground publication.
On this forum,i traded tapes with 2 guys. The first make me discover harcore-gabber but i didn’t like it at all.
The second sent me the first PsychedelicTrance album i listen to : Loren X – Definitive Perception. I just remember 2 things, the sound was awful and the cover art kinda weird psychedelic and so i quickly erase the tape. I don’t know what happen to Loren X but he tottally dissappeared from french scene, may be coz he was holding a bad reputation.

- December 94, i was waiting for a friend. He was delayed and so i take a tour in a shopnewspaper and found by chance Coda , there was an article on Sven Väth. On the next number of Coda february-mars 95 , there was an article introducing a new style : Goa and November 95 another article about Goa confirming the development of this style.
The problem as always in my town, is that we got things with big delays.
So i must have wait till summer 96 in order to listen to my first goa compilation : Tantrance 2 coz the cd was in free-listenable in the musicshop. I bought it immediatly after longly listen to it, and rapidly come-back to the shop in order to buy Tantrance 1.

I was deep into melodic/progressive metal like Dream Theater, Rhapsody, Symphony X, Angra, Savatage, Rush, etc...
Then I went to a 5 days party... and I wanted to know what was goa trance and psytrance... But nobody could answer me...

Then I noticed that in Brasília (Brazil's Capital) very few people knew something about trance (including me). There was lots of parties where the DJs only played tech-house or progressive house or hard techno and in the day after everybody was talking: "I went to a trance party" or "Very good DJ, he played trance all night long".

Trance was "the WORD of the moment". Every party should be trance party... No one would go to a house or tech-house party, because "house were a homosexual thing".
hypocrisy was total. So every party were a trance party where the DJ play house, and everybody liked it...

Then I went to my computer and downloaded some trance stuff... This was oakenfold, van dik, infinity project, Mark Mark, Patife, GOA GIL...
Later I listened to Hallucinogen, GMS, Skazy, etc... And I was stomped!!! Now I only listen to psy-stuff...
