On 7th grade a hot hot girl made a speech of electronic music in music class.. she was so HOT that I just had to give it a chance           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

yeah, blame the babe...
I want you to understand that this man at the wheel is my attorney. He's not just some dingbat I found on the strip, man. He's a foreigner. I think he's probably Samoan. But that doesn't matter, though, does it? Are you prejudiced?

My way to trance was too obvious. Always loved dance music, you know - everything you can dance ... I even took break-dance classes in the childhood. At some point it started to be techno and dream music I was pretty obssesed with.
And one perfect day about 6 years ago friend of Shivas and mine brought with him some old trance CD. It was something like Shiva Shidapu ... You know what's happened after ...

i started to listen to eurodance when i was 11-12 , stuff like culture beat, corona ....
i liked the rythm of this electronic music
then i grew up a little bit, and threw away all these comercial stuffs....
i got into metal and hip hop (quite different i know) during many years... i din't really know the techno scene but the comercial stuffs you can see the promo on tv... so i was like "techno?? yeahhh... right... just comercial crap.."
but 3 years ago ,i thought metal was becoming too repetitive with no more innovating band (i think korn was the last innovative metal band... now everything is just copy paste), and hip hop was becoming really more commercial (the great time of the wu tang was gone.....)
a friend of mine took me to a trance club... first time i was listening to trance , and the dj was playing some tim schuldt stuffs....
i was like "hey, he is mixing trance & metal , that's fuckin killer.....!!!"
then i bought my first astral cd , then tim schuldt album , cydonia.......

Well being 33 soon it's a long story ...
i was leaving in England in 1988 at the beginning of the house /acid music and already listening to electronic stuff like depeche mode , kraftwerk..etc
From there back to france in 1991/92 for the first Hardcore party and winter 1993 went to Goa and that was it i was hooked up like most people.
On top of that i used to live close to Cedric ( Lestat ) in Paris so he took me to the first party in paris where mostly only him , christof , Mael, Dan-dan and Dado were playing...
And Now we are all dads but still loving the music...           10 years and still digging...

When I was 13 it was prodigy, ministry, harder stuff. alot of punk too. then i found breakbeats, then hardcore tek, prog house/trance, then i heard Trance Dance. It changed the way I looked at trance. Infected Mushroom, and then on to the ten million different psy artists out there. then ambient. I notice a pattern in a few of the people that listen to trance but not all. nice thread!           -=Keep it Spiritual=-

lets see.

I had heard some real garbage like Eyal Barkan, Holymen, etc. Wasn't crazy about it.
The first time I really liked trance was when I had my first smoke I was really high and Infected's first CD had just come out. When Psycho came on with that crazy sample in the middle I was hooked for life.           Both teams played hard

i started to electornic music when the euro dance stuff like 2 unlimited, capella, sasha and so on had their high. soon i discovered the so called techno with artists like marusha and westbam and really liked it to. i was too young to go to parties then but i keep listening to the music and finally three years ago i went to a goa party the first time. i really liked the atmosphere and the people and after a time i got deeper into the music and i love it since then.           Something 'bout those little pills - Unreal the thrills they yield - Until they kill a million brain cells - I'm going down to... La La Land!

hmmm... my folks owned a jazz club and I got to meet some pretty strange people who would show me some pretty strange stuff... eventually my horizons expanded with my growing knowledge and techno became an everyday/every-hour topic in my life, I think the first psytrance I ever heard was about 5 years ago, maybe it was Simon P but it's mostly all a blur now.
