How come the scene in Goa is so conservative?

In Goa, where it all started (one of the first places) the music used to be so eclectic, cutting edge and pushing the boundaries for new and exciting music. And now 10-15 years later itīs just stagnated and all you here is the same music over and over. No DJs dare to play anything different, everyone play their 3 hours of hits, full on stuff or the hardest night music hour after hour, even in the afternoon... In the rest of the world the psytrancescene is evolving and you hear full on, progressive, even house on many of the big festivals and parties. But in Goa itīs only full on Goatrance all the time with no variation, it still sounds like it did in -95 and if someone tries to play something different the "openminded people" gets really pissed off...
Just curious how this happened and why? I used to play and make parties in Goa but I lost the intrest over the last years.
Itīs still a great place and once in a while u can fins a great party, but musicwise, what happened?

Goa definitely has gone downhill as regards to the music at all the major parties..............most of the freaks have stopped deserted goa a long time back....

there however is hope in the form of private parties
but these so called 'private' parties have a killer vibe and great music....just that they are difficult to find......one must know the right people to get to these........and once u get there, trust me u will be blown........

basically too many of the same DJs playing there... its like a mini DJ mafia... very hard to get behind the mixer at the big parties if you're not in on it...

though still many many killer parties... and yes the smaller ones can be amazing.

Goa is a joke these days. All the magic and vibe was washed out of it by the mid 90's... Just tourists, and shady, hard mafia vibes...

We missed it by 12 years!

Come to the USA if you're looking for a real

dude u must get ure facts right befor making such a statement.........

Goa still has the vibe left though its very diminashed ......its no where near what is used to be in the early nineties......agree the place is filled with a shady crowd and has a mafia vibe......

but , but, but........there still are parties with the most killer vibes and intense energy that take place in goa.....however these are very difficult to find...usually people who attend these parties know the organisers some way or the other or know someone who knows the organsiers........
otherwise it is very difficult to find out about these.......
for the tourist who look for the parties in goa.the scene is pretty shitty..standard party places like hilltop, paradiso, disco valley..have all gone to the dogs......commercial crowd and crappy music most of the times......
so i guess u have to be proactive and do research to have a good time now......just cant expect to find out about the killer scenes by stiing on ure ass

the vibe is still there and will never die

Hey man, my friend was in Goa in January and he also told me that the music and the vibe was not the same nowdays. I have been myself to FMF 2004 and also there most of the music was commercial. The thing is that nowadays it's small parties that have the best music and i have no doubt that there are good parties still going on in Goa but probably few people know about these parties!

Never rule out the possibility that it's your own vibe that changed.
