Absolutely horrific music. I kinda feel sorry for the ravers. They look like a flock of disturbed misfits hyper-bouncing around. Dunno why, but that's the feeling I get. Then again, why the hell not if it makes them feel good. And this video made me laugh, which is positive I guess, even though its more due embarrasment than joy.
I'd like to hear something like this somewhere insted of that teeth aching drilling:

I find this all very interesting because I've seen the same response from punters when I've seen Aphex Twin & Venetian Snares live. Actually Aphex live in the mid 90's had most the acid fueled crowd in a catatonic state, or else sobbing hysterically. The ambo's were run off their feet sedating people. & the cops shut it down yet he's about as big as it can get from that era and even now.

Maybe this hitech crowd just needs to stop associating with the Psy scene and create their own?

Where I live if it's not mind numbingly boring prog it just not Psy enough. I'd prefer ass rape over most the rubbish played in Australia under the "psy trance" banner

150-160? that's way too fast IMO.

I agree with the person who said there should be some kind of splitting up the scenes within the sub genres of psytrance. There's just way too much music in this scene that's got nothing to do with psy or trance these days. |

I used to love HiTech when it began back in 2005 I believe. Cosmo, Highko, Kindzadza etc.I was also 10 years younger(27). My love for this "music" passed very quickly though.

Gotta agree either got to be young enough or young at heart to enjoy this wild, fast, super energetic high bpm trance. Its definitely not for everyone. Lot of people must have had their fun during their peak and slowly grown out of it.

It has its niche in the scene, ideal for festival scenario especially last few hours closing the night after the forest/dark dj sessions once dawn is breaking just before the full on morning sounds transformation starts.

Hi-tech seems like the epitome of psytrance that has lost its way. Like it has totally forgotten what it is and it started to take itself way to seriously. This music is just not fun, it's oppressive. It is also no longer musical, just technical. This is a problem within many of the psy sub-genres. Sure, everyone is a technical wizard, and can make lots of "psychedelic" noises over a fat bassline, but there is no new interpretations of the sound. No one is injecting their soul into the music. It's all "how can I sound like this label". Think of the best artists that you can always go back to: Vibrasphere, Juno reactor, Posford, Koxbox(old stuff), Ticon, Midi Miliz...why is this music so timeless? Because they took the genre and made something new and of themselves with it.

Anyways, I am totally getting of topic here, so I will say the biggest reason that Hi-tech is shit. IT KILLS THE VIBE ON THE DANCE FLOOR. I don't wan't to have to strain myself to like the music that I am hearing just because some dj wants to show everyone that he has the biggest most psychedelic balls. Hi-tech alienates everyone except the few hard-core hitech fans, who unsurprisingly are almost always men.

Not really, check out a festival like Noise Poison or something and it's full of women?

I guess it's always going to draw polarising opinions being the most extreme end of an already quite extreme genre.

Honestly out of those artists you listed I wouldn't really bother with any of them any more sidra, I disagree they're "timeless", I also disagree that there's no new interpretations of sound in Hitech, some of what these guys are doing (especially with their basslines) is ridiculous. You do have to hear it coming out of a big outdoor party rig to get the full experience though imo.

To me some boring progressive or super generic 145bpm psy kills the mood on the dance floor. It's all subjective I guess but the most energetic, euphoric, and joyous dancefloors I've experience have been on Hitech!

I do like the idea of splitting the faster BPM stuff from "Normal" psytrance. 2015 for me is going to be all about darkpsy/hitech festivals; I looked at the lineup Ozora just released and yawned... |

Yeah their head is full of acid(maybe) but no one is able to dance to this high BPM base line and scratch noises. Everyone just tries to shake their heads to 170 Bpm. Never have the heart for this soulles "music"(I dont dare to call this music either). Now dont get me wrong, back in my time I used to love thos Techy projects like Spirallianz,Midi Miliz, 3 Point turn and higher BPM projects like Grapes of Wrath, Crow etc'. But those fellows had rythm, progression, story and soul behind their music while being highly psychedelic. This noise shown in the video is soulles pit.
