Help wanted for Psy in Boston

Most definitely. Never wanted to generate any negative vibes either. I want a scene that is diverse and multi-faceted and would love to see new developments in the Boston scene as long as they follow this standard.
This is why the subject of SB was initiated because they dont uphold this idea. No worries, mayby we can help them have better events. Namaste and sorry to Acidity for turning your thread into a playground. |

I personally feel that sonic beating is one of the tightest, best organized, most talented crews doing psy on the east coast. Their sound is awesome, their deco is top notch and home made, and they have their hearts in the right place. It's too bad that darkpsy purists can't see past their need to dis other parts of the genre and enjoy the effort that crews who aren't as "korrekt" as they "should" be put into their events. While I personally support and prefer full-spectrum events that let darkpsy, fullon, and prog share the stage, just because a party is tilted in one direction or the other doesn't remove the possibility that something cool is happening. Any group that is throwing parties in the hostile environment that is the east coast deserves props. |

Enough! Everyone is trying to make their arguments and we end up sounding like a bunch of elitest idiots, myself included. Lets focus our thoughts on helping this crew host a great succesful event, one that includes the highest level of all facets of our community. Not just prog or dark-psy but really sublimate our will to be productive and effective on a universal plain of existance. So I'm not a Dark-psy snob only a psy-trance snob and I do believe in the unity we all share so lets stop being one-dimensional and open up to the other reality. |

yeah, this all sounds pretty ridiculous.
i like trance parties, and you all do too  hooray
and if you don't like psyforia, its probably because you haven't befriended anyone there. Its a great excuse for the boston psychedelic community to get together and share some good times. sure the resident DJ's are into prog, but they have all sorts of guest DJ's play different varieties.
I can understand the disappointment some of you might have felt, coming from places where there are wild pagan all night psytrance parties every couple weeks.....but sadly, that sort of thing isn't really possible around here (currently) |

Hello all! I'm from Boston and I <3 psy music. I think I might have met a few of you this last weekend before leaving for the CT party.
Anyways, I am all for more psychedelic music/events happening in Boston. Please let me know if there are more meetups, etc. I'd love to help!
Good to see this going.
And Vector's last point is about as spot on as you can get from my opinion as well. Unless you go VERY underground, you can't have wild all night trance parties at all around here.
As far as Sonic Beating go, they're an important part of the local psy community. Even I'm personally not that into prog I still feel they're vital. It's one of the most consistent psy based events in the Boston area, and on top of this Sonic Beating does some great deco.
Anyways, good luck on getting things started and let me know how I can be of service! |
