First off congrats on starting to organize events in Boston.

Secondly the issue of alchohol at psy parties. I rarely drink but I do enjoy a cold saki in the AM after a long night of dancing while I enjoy my morning trance. Have you ever been to a festival? Ever notice how many chill cats sip on a beer in the hot afternoon sun? Booze in and of itself is not evil or bad. It is just another tool provided by Mother Nature for us to use. Some of us are idiots and have no idea what to do with tools and abuse them. I prefer psytrance in venues that are NOT bars, I am not a big fan of Joe Q General bar fly with his negative booze energy at my party. I do however understand and respect that a drink or two is part of the process for many of us and various times.

Byob works great for us. The people that care have it. The people that just want a bar trough are shit out of luck and leave.

You seem like a very judgemental psysnob kinda of cat. Making general statements about people you may not even know. Instead of shooting people down try helping and changing things you do not like about things.

my 2 cents

What kind of psy do you intend on playing at these events, because most of what I've heard in Boston is fluffy prog x-raver trance. Nobody understands what psychedelic music is supposed to sound like, but mayby you have a different idea. Mayby if the people making posts in this thread worried a little less about finding a way for alchohol to be allowed at the event and more time figuring out why they really like the music we might get something accomplished. If you're really concerned about alchohol at events which are supposed to expand conciousness than mayby you should evaluate your priorities. If you want genuine pure psy-trance make your own or do some research into the underground rather than talk to sonic -beating cause there is no hope at the end of that road. I live in New Hampshire so if your curious write back. Ive been djing for 12 years and 6 of those have been with psy-trance, and my heart is buried deep within the scene. If you like I'll give you a link to my mix on Triplag radio. Namaste.

Chill out people

I have been going to parties for like 5 years (2-3 yrs of that have been in the open wild parties of Goa) so no worries there mate, it will be total psychedelia. Regarding booze, not many dont do (or cant do mind expanding stuff for various reasons) and for them alcohol is a way to get down. Nothing wrong with it. I have many friends who just drink at parties and they are one of the most hardcore psy-heads I have met in my life.

Anyway, regarding our meeting, we have put our eye down on couple of venues and working on it as I speak.

Good news soon....           Discover.Vote.Share() - http://www.beamto.us

I am a snob, especially when it comes to things I'm passionate about. Mayby thats cause I'm bombarded with ignorance and apathy many times induced by people who encourage alchohol consumption. Often times it perpetuates life long ego-centric life styles because it desensitizes people to there true nature and consciousness. I understand that it can be enjoyable but see no need for it at trance parties. I can't accept something which is essentially a poison as a tool for better life, sorry. Drink some tea or smoke if you need to chill. At least smoking doesn't stifle consciousness.

I appreciate the effort to facilitate psy-events in Boston and wish you the best of luck. Let me know if I can help.

Add me to the list of people willing to help out in any way. I'm down in Providence and it's easy enough to get anywhere around Boston.

Hello, my name is Brendan. Thank you. Grew up in N.H. my first rave was in Boston in 95 at the Bayside Expo. Thrown by Liquid Todd and away I flew with the psychedelic circus, never looking back. Tranced in NYC for a few years with the DMT "under the GW Bridge. Been to Sonic-Beating a few times but prog isnt for me, its to similar to House music. Nothing against house but this is Trance and that is that.

Sup Brendan,
glad to meet someone else who has genuine first hand experience with raves/nature parties.
What killed me most abotu sonic beating wasn't the music itself... but rather the croud.
The vibe just wans't there, people doing their own thing in the center of the dancefloor and stuff...
