hmmm... dont know why I didnt notice this forum before. personally, I think that you should go with an all night place and not have alcohol served at all... usually trancers dont care to begin with and that will take alot of unwanted attention off of the event. 2ndly, hidro is right about getting an insured place to maintain all security... my guess is to look at legion halls, an all ages club, or someone's farm land/barn outside of earshot of any neighbors (even if for only a one night show).
let me know if you need anymore help... id be more than happy to contribute |

Hey!
I'm so happy to see a Boston thread!
When i first realized I was moving here i started this:
http://forum.isratrance.com/boston/28-105858/
So far I've been to a few Psyforias, both indoor and outdoor... and well... i won't hide i was very disappointed with the scene...
I spent the last 5 years of my life in Israel (after growing up in France), and the last few of those going to nature parties pretty much every weekend or so... A very underground scene which a lot of people consider very elitist (i don't deny that).
ANYWAY, here i am in Boston, listening to PSY alone in my small apartment near Boston College (where i study). I am really looking forward to meeting some of y'all!
Feel free to drop me a message here, or an email or anything! I'll be checking this thread often!
b00m!
Dav
PS: I took the liberty of msging most of you, i hope you don't mind.
PPS: Who's down for a facebook group or something like that? PM for name and stuff...

guys, this seems to be gathering a lot of interest. Thanks for being so forthcoming.
I'd suggest getting together one of these weekends and taking it forward.
I have created a group in facebook called Boston Tribal Revolution. Feel free to join.

In Atlanta we have private pre registration only parties that are BYOB in a private warehouse/club that go from 10pm till 7am as a way to get around the bar rules and party inside all night. |

yeah i think that's the best way to go no matter what city you're in. RSVP only, no public admittance. only problem with BYOB is the cops can still bust you if there are minors at the venue. |

thats why you make it private invite only (unless presales turn out way low, then allow people in) and then have no alcohol... make people bring their flasks and secretly drink |

we handle minors this way, our event are 18 and up we ID and band at the door. Anyone over 21 that brings alcohol has it tagged with a number that matches their wrist band. They then check it with our bartender who provides free cups and mixers and chills your beer. We have security that check to make sure minors are not drinking. It has worked so far the RSVP requirement helps alot to keep it a chill crowd.
We tend to get just a few presales but we also have the option to RSVP with out buying the ticket. That gets you on the list so you can purchase a tix at the door. Our numbers have been pretty steady since we started this policy last year. |
