For me the heart-head dichtomy is too simple, I usually use the chakra system to describe the way different music seems to influence me. So my examples are:

Heart-
Vibrasphere-San Pedro
Melicia- Genesis
Passenger-The Race (dark aspect of the heart)
Logic Bomb- Unlimited
3rd Eye (head) music-
Hallucinogen-Twisted
Hux-Flux- Idiot
X-Dream: Panic in Paradise
Gaudi- Bass, Sweat and Tears

mmmm.

I think it depends on the situation entirely.

I think your music could sound a certain way if you need to finish a track on deadline.....and you need to get it released.

And another way totally if you take your time and let it come naturally.

You can teach anyone to play the guitar like a pro....but not everyone will become a Jimi Hendrix.

I been thinking about this question, with he brain we mean using our inteligence, our minds what ever you call it working with consiouce thought and with our hearts we mean, passion, love letting our instincts run free. With no success at dj'ing and not even attepting to produce my little experience tells me that its a blend of both that is needed. With my experiences in life and on the dance floor I think there is another lot more inspired state to be in. the one that can be found on the dance floor after many hours of dancing. Where consious thought is eradicated and your heart and body are part of the body and the brain is nothing but another part of the body. You know what I mean, I just want to know from somebody who knows if it is possible to create/mix music in this state????

It is actually a quite interesting question u raise there!!!!

Much of todays releases is so tehcnically refinded, perfect digital mixes, so tight and clean to listen to, and with all sorts of the newest tricks and effects on vocals, leads etc, so you acctually wonder sometime....if producing music in this genre is going into a contest in who produces the most "technically advanced music" in stead of who produces music with most soul...

After having said that, it is a fact, that the clean production side of music (not thinking about inspiration, melodies, and the feel. etc), but customizing sounds, sampling, mixing frequencies etc. in my opppinion is purely you brains job... and if this is not done properly, no matter how much
"soul" is in the music...it will not work in a party, and I guess this is where the music
belongs ...so it is a combination of the two as I see it...

Frank E. from Koxbox once told me: "a bad production can not save a good track...but a good produtcion can save a bad track", with mind on the floor...., I think that says it all...

all the best

Do you think that there are some artists that create music only from the brain? I mean, not heart no emotions just create cause they can.

IMO
The best example is Yoni Salach:

In addition to what was said, i feel that when an artist becomes driven by $$$ only, he starts creating music with the brain.. he becomes a businessman then....           www.LebaneseRavers.com | Raving beyond borders

and thats a very sad reality...
good production should come to emphasize the qualities of the track, not to cover for lack of musical talent!

I think anyone who is driven to create music has to feel something of it in their hearts. Even those that write purely with a mind to maing money will bring something of their soul to a piece - it's inevitable. You're happy one day, your sounds will be different than if you're recording after a shit day.

On the flip side, no producer is all heart. There also has to be method and practical application of the spiritual, emotional or intellectual concept they are trying to convey. Even if you're a novice banging a drum and nothing more, you have to lift your hand and smack it down on the skin in a certain place, which requires thinking.

Also, as has been said many, many a time, when you listen to somebody's work, you're bringing your own background, feelings, mentality to the musical table and any opinion or response you have to a track will always be somewhat coloured by that.

In other words, there will plenty on here that will feel Psydrop are all brain and Hypersonic from the heart.

Personal taste mate. That's my opinion 3;~
