Its has been about 4-5 years since Michael Anderson's debut albumn "Wonderground" . That albumn stood out for its long hypnotic tunes built on subtle yet mesmerizing layers of lush synths and ambient beats. The kind of albumn that needs to be listened to from start to finish in isolation and without distraction to reap the full reward. Five years later I still enjoy listening to Wonderground ... especially on long drives along the coast.

There has been a great deal of ambient music of various styles released in this scene in the last 4-5 years . So you might expect some of that to influence an artist’s development. Would the music move in a new direction ? You could image Anderson moving into an Aes Dana / Solar Fields direction - it wouldn’t be too much of a leap . Personally , I would have been a little disappointed if that were the case . As much as we like to see artists grow and develop , explore new horizons , sometimes I like to see an artist stay true to form and simply modernise their sound.

This is exactly what I believe Anderson has done with this new albumn. It could easily be called "Wonderground 2" . But at the same time it manages to sound fresh and contemporary ... and I can't quite put my finger on why that is . There is the same lush loops and hypnotic rhythms , the songs go for anywhere between 8 - 12 minutes as before and the atmosphere once again transport you into that cloudy headspace .

The production far exceeds that of Wonderground .. there are more complex structures to be found here and he introduces a lot of new sounds we never experienced on the debut albumn.

I'm looking forward to an afternoon alone with this albumn where I can enjoy it in the right setting ... perhaps mixed with some of the first albumn too . Well worth getting if you liked the first albumn

Really glad that all people are enjoying this release!!

Also thanx for the suport

I think this is a timeless release...also according to mushroom magazine :

This release brings out what is actually real in music and eternally timeless. Because these oscillations are always pervasive and Michael Andersen, the healer, is one of the few that can catch and take hold of them for some moments. Listen, feel and ease!
