I would say its worth it but what i dont understand is why you don't release the sessions at a reduced cost for those that cant afford it, your breading "elitism" which the Psytrance scene already has enough problems with.

I dont think 200 Euros is outlandish but seems a little strange that i can have 8 hours with Alex in his studio in London for £150 but i guess you have to make it worth the "guest" producers time.

All in all i believe they are good value for money but only if you can afford it, i think you would appease the haters somewhat if you made the sessions downloadable at a decent price but at the end of the day you are a business and that's "your" business.

Agreed but i guess they're afraid of the videos being pirated & ending up all over the net.           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

It always does. The music does, the software that's used to make it does to. Everything goes. We can bitch about it, or we can adapt to it. If something has genuine value, you can tease people with genuinely good free stuff and then ask money for exclusives - but you need to be realistic about the pricing and honest about its value. Plus, you should always be open to honest criticism and sensitive to different economic realities. Any model that's more exclusive then inclusive is doomed to fail by its own premise in this time and age. Be my guest and prove me wrong in the long run.

Get-a-fix - It always does as frisbeehead says, and as i know all to well with all my courses splattered everywhere.

But i now see this as free advertising and the point is that there will always be people who will NEVER pay for anything, even if they have the means to do so and there will always be people who will ALWAYS pay even if they have the means to get stuff for free.

they should get off their high horse and think about the benefits to the genre, the fans, the producers and not least the quality of psytrance production that would benefit from insider advice and help.

Just make it affordable for people all over the world. Not everyone earns pounds you know, it is pretty expensive for only 3 hours.

you cheap bastards ! It's nothing compared to the international standard. Please don't be offended if you live in a third world country, that's how it is.
(1600$ - promoter fee (i would say 15%)) / 2 (company tax) / 1.5 (income tax) = 500$ for 2 days, means 250$ per day of work. Wich is 180€. Wich is not that much in the world today...            me Progressive Project : http://www.soundcloud.com/out-of-jetlag

It is not a whole DAY of work, its 3 hours and is not a live gig, it is a online class so it shouldn't be based on same fee.

If we live in 3rd world countries then they should contemplate this into their course structure and fee otherwise is just this elitist scheme in which only few can pay.

When Billy Cosmosis was selling his psylead videos I talked this same thing to him and obtained a nice discount which made me feel supported and I felt like the artist really wanted to share knowledge I'm sure because of my recommendations many other bought the lessons however this "pay for it if you can" attitude is a bit shitty imho.

wast of money and what are you really learn in 3 hours , a vieuw simple tricks . well i learned the hard way and be glad with it ,If you get in the phase that you have the freedom to create a sound what you wish then , you will surprised what gates are open . learned allot on youtube , and sometimes just pick up tutorials what's not psytrance . well i working on some new material and after that i think to make some free tutorials on google hangout for free . just like a tea party and sharing some tips and tricks , sharing is make other feel better and yourself . i think thats the main key to succes . but if you got money like water , throw it in then ha,ha

Wow. What a rip off. I did an Ableton course a few years back here. $750 a month. 5 hours of classes done by certified Ableton trainers per week. Access to a pro studio feat. a rack of great synths, fx & other gear plus loads of software and an amazing mixing console (access was from 8am-2am 7 days a week, and there are pro's on hand all times to call on for help).

$300 for this or whatever you charge? There's better free clips on youtube ffs.

And then as much as he hates me there's Faxi's tireless output for minimal to no cost inc. his amazing sample kits.

I cannot believe any suckers would pay for this. You can get a microbrute or the new drum machine from Akai or so many other useful tools for this or less!!           Cuntus Maximus.

It's up to whoever pays for it.

if they want to charge that much and people are willing to pay it, then it's fair game for them.

if you don't want to pay for it, don't do it.
