Thanks guys, the catch is that I'd like the LEDs to light up in step sequence mode as it does when Maschine is working as a plugin. if I have a good working model for this shall repost, mux looks like a good start.

Have anyone recommended one Elektron Box?

Probably the Octatrack can do the jobs as it has the more complex sequencer.

here one example of one of their boxes

wow...cant believe nobody said this...

http://sequentix.com/cirklon.htm

prob the best one we have in the market but only for realy rich people .... 999 uk money....but fuckkkk that thing looks powerful.... and u d never look for the screen indeeeeed.

im considerin to get one mfb urgzerg pro 2 but i see people complainin about the build in quality..... for the same price u have darktime but it seems in dark time besides only 16 steps you cant even use one of the rows of 8 steps as velocity...so it would be quite limited...

but if i had the money would go to that cirklon thing.

there s something interestin tho...in that line of cheap sequencers..... ( like dark time and mfb pro ) for a lower price you could get an ipad and an imagi line midi interface for the ipad and you d have an step sequencer with a little more features than both small analog ones....there are a few nice step sequencer for ipad including the big thesys altho thesys aint for the one lookin to emulate analog sequencer.

iPad + Alesis iO Dock is a powerful combo indeed, seen it being used by collectors of vintage synths... downside is you're giving up CV, unless you have another device converting MIDI to CV.

this one looks like a great option as sequencer + drum machine combo.

Think twice before buying MFB gear. Search internet for informations, a lot of people wrote about poor quality of their products           http://soundcloud.com/deepskypsy

Can't wait to get the Make Noise Rene. Only seen youtube clips of it, but I feel the way it works, will have me program some sequences I haven't yet.

this one's similar to the Doepfer with inf. push button rotaries instead of faders... though no CV...

This looks useful too with its CV, and a steal under 100e.
