Funny - was just thinking of leaving for hampi this morning. Scenically hampi can't be compared to Manali or most places up North. The landscape is totally different.

I did manage to make it out to Hampi in August of last year, and let me say it was a life changing experience. Visiting 5,6 new temples every single day, seeing the ancient beauty, and the shanti, well IMO nothing can compare to the shanti in Hampi. Absolutely beautiful place, and one day I plan on living there. However I did hear that Hampi gets overcrowded and full of firangs this time of year. I would go in the off season to really experience it for what it is, one of the most unique landscape, chilled out and beautiful places in the world.

hampy is one of the most special places in the world in my opinion
the rockey landscape there is really one of a kind, all this giant rocks all over the place and all the green around i just amazing
the best landscape you get there is from the monkey tample, where there is an amazing panoramic view of all the area around
when i was there it all looked to me like it was taken out of the flinstones movie
one day i will go back there... for sure |
