yes I agree with all, and actually nothing is more worth than just the fun factor. As Vermee also pointed out breaks are great for getting again inspiration. Works like a charm

Also personaly I like to work very often in headphones when I make my music cause I like to make music at night most often and I have still not a treated room etc my neighbours got kids etc.. so headpones are usefull. When I mix for others or others work, I don't do it on phones though I'm happy to be sometimes in a real studio although I need to find a real workspace soon. And For me it works really good to compare the material on lots of sources..My mate's van is great tool for finding the sweetspot on the filter for my bass (and kick spearation etc) for some unknown reasons
My laptop speakers are a very important analysis
I think good headphones are very very usefull too. And does not need to be that expensive.
I like my Bayerdynamic DT77 didnt cost the world.
My personal plan's it to make own good treatment in the next time though.Seems to me necesseary after the last year.

When it comes to speaker.. I find it is smart to read others opinion but it is necesseary ,the most important step before buying to hear and compare just with yourself and your ears and no one elses opinion.

if today i was about buying some new monitors i would check sealed design, probably with a sub .
Ports give you extented low end for a cabinet size but it fuck timing coherence. that timing information are more important than extanted low end ,it make everyhting sound more real .with a sub you turn on to check the low end and the balance of the mix extened low end is not a problem.
companies don t talk much about timing information on their monitors cause they know their design is often not that great ,they also know it s obscur even for sound engeinneers so they rather talk about frequnecy reponse and extented low end but in fact timing domain is maybe more important than frequncy response to get good mix ,it s a very big factor for monitors and sealed design are good for this.

argh, the focal solos are not sealed, there is a gap for the subs i guess... you see it below the logo:

youre talking about such constructions right?

yeah it s that, most todays monitors are not sealed cause it s extented low end that is more apealing when ppl buy monitors , it s also can be cheaper to make, but monitors with ports can be very good too.

plz report after some times using them..i was thinking these with the sub could be a really good setup as primary or second pair of monitors, they cut at 60hz if i remmeber ,it s too high for me but with the sealed sub ..would love to try these.

the k+h 300 + sub seems like the real deal for electronic music...i was turned off on these one cause it could be better for the price, there is some design flaw it seems from some papers i have read.. they sound reallly good but could sound even better..

there is also many small unknown companies that seems to make really intresting monitors, guys with true passion of the sound, there is probably some great speakers there too

yes they work better with a sub.. although 60hz may sound not soo bassy but imagine you can get a crystal clear representation of the duration of the sound and bass without having any timing issues in the energy of the bass notes thus giving you a better and more clear image of what is going on in the low end of the freq spectrum.. you can turn on the sub and check the sub bass at any time.
plus you get a speaker that performs equally nice even in untreated rooms.
im complimenting my dynaudio bm5a with these.

k&h 0300 are super awesome and have the same closed cabinet philosophy but the price is steep.. i know my dynaudio by heart now and my only grip is the mid/lowmid freqs that always find issues with any ported speakers by getting these i just hope to save time than make my mixes better since i get good resoltes with the dyna by now except the pat i have to constantly check my mixes on other speakers for verification... if the AE22 save me that time im more than happy!

all in all they are like tha yamahaha ns10 but bassier and louder...           http://www.landmark-recordings.com/
