In my opinon this things make the music market more strong, and maybe save a lot of great artists, and labels too.
Hope to see more steps like this one. . .

It will send 90% of trance listeners to jail, or make them pay fines or whatever.
Great!

The best way to fight this phenomena is by education, but I guess it ain't going to happen soon.

Heh- yeah sure this will help the trance labels.

Im sure many psy trance labes are subsidiaries of SONY, RCA, UNIVERSAL, WARNER BORS.

Mike A the article talks about heavy users and not for people (like me for example) that listen a nice track of Madonna on MTV and just download it.We are talking about people with extremely fast lines that do nothing more all day than downloading music and probably selling it and copying it to others.

I am 100% positive to this decision and i hope that some of those gem and psy mp.3 group guys will end up to jail also cause these are the ones that are really fucking up the trance scene.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

I also think that this could be something positive, but we shall see if it will work out.

I'm not sure this is such a good decision.
I think they should only go after the peer-to-peer websites that provide the service...

It's not very clear in the article against whom they are actually going to court, we will have to wait and see.

well , I have mixed feelings about this statement ... and I don't think the download hype will ever stop ... even if some major downloadfreak gets busted.

It's like in the illigal drugtraffic ... sometimes the bigger dealers get busted but no way that occasional users and addicts will ever stop taking dope ... no , au contraire... they will see it as a taboo and will go for the kick , the rush of dealing massive amounts of "mp3's"

just make the cd's cheaper , lowers taxes .. so more people will buy them .. not only rich people . this equals more production and sure they won't have huge losts ...

I agree with Elvis
A international trance cd costs about 15 euro
in Brazil, 15 euro is like 50 reais
a national made cd costs 20 reais
in order to get a international cd I must pay 50 reai plus tax, what will leave me witha bill of 75 to 100 reais.
with 100 reais I could buy 4 cds here (not trance)or get X cds on the net for free!!

See the point??

This has zero news value for psyrance artists and label owners. In the first place trance labels are not part of the RIAA so even if u share 200 gig of psytrance, u can get away with it cause it isn't on the RIAA list. In the second place they primarily target Kazaa, not exactly a worthwhile P2P source for psytrance. In fact, FTP trading simply exceeds the p2p exchange for psytrance and that is near untraceable.

ISP may be willing to provide some names to the major labels under legal pressure but for a small trance label...forget it...
