outside looks dont count, but if u look closely, ull find a significantly larger proportion of "nice" people within a crowd of rastas with dreadlocks rather than in a crowd of arsim...
but it's all about generalizing and being willing to take the risk of getting 8 bad people and 2 good ones if u let 10 arsim in...
i personally wouldn't wanna take the chance... but that's only my choice...           "I went to Goa and all i got was this lousy superiority complex."

Human brain is extremely delicate machine. It works very hard as the child grows and turns into a man. The brain collects data all this time and during adulthood. If our brain will only collect data and wont take measures to compress it somehow, our lives will be impossible, since there will be too much data to handle. The use of generalizations is one of the ways to take off load of the brain.

If a person goes to certain kind of party not to his taste and has a bad time there, it wont make him to make the conclusion that this kind of parties is usually bad, but if, the same person will attend few of these parties and have the same feeling in each other, that person might make the connection between the party-the crowd-the music and come to a conclusion that this type of parties are simple bad. Not bad for EVERYONE. Bad for that specific person. That doesnt make that person racist, or elitist, or any of the above, only one that seeks what is good for him, like most of us.

That is why you, Tal, live in Finland and not in Israel I guess - it is better there. And that doesnt really say that u r traitor or trying to escape the army service.

Ofcourse nobody in those pics did wrong to me. And I am sure many of them are ppl that came to the same conclusion I did, to save brain space - its only the outcome of their experiences made them to choose commercial parties while I prefered the more underground ones. The fact is still, that generally those events have more violent feeling overal, and in those events much larger a chance to get into a fist fight or knife fight just like that, out of the blue then in 3d Empire for instance.

So everyone makes his decisions and that is what is beautiful. Like everywhere in the world species find their home and the habitat they like to be around. Some find their home in Gordon pool and enjoy that to the fullest and some find it in a small friends party in the woods. Ofcourse there are reasons for making that choice - and the reasons dont make a person elitist nor racist.

I so much agree.

That is WHY there are huge raves and many ppl enjoy them. Where is the wrong - that someone prefers not going there? Or that someone else believes that his choice of trance party shouldnt happen in Grodon Pool? ( so unpsychedelic and so commercial.. )

Guy Cohen u made contact with me few times on the MSN and also met me in Moksha party - was I disrespectful to u in any of these events?

I still disagree:
I'm still not saying anyone who doesn't like gatherings like this (with this type of crowd look) should attend them just for the principal. This is only a trance party, not the fight over the Hitnatkut ("separation" in hebrew) from the occupied territories. you go to a party to enjoy and have fun, not to fight over principals.

I am, however, offended when I see the kind of posts made here, which are made purely on the looks of the attendees.

So the debate here (for me) was purely over the comments made over the pictures - not whether or not these type of parties fit everybody.

cheers,
A

Well Tal, if that would be the way u have started your argument, I would actually back u up.

But instead what u did was to badmouth which usually doesnt lead to anything good but fighting. As u have seen

(forget ofcourse about the slaping comment and the cynical remarks that actualy started our personal debate).

Guy, dont you see?? they are dark-skinned, no Sharwals, no dreadlocks/long dirty hair - what the fuck are these ARSIM doing in a trance party???

There can be only one trance culture - the hippie one (AKA the BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE). All other looks/styles/colors are UGLY, and they make the people who look like it UGLY PEOPLE.

On a personal level (leaving the music outside, since I can't stand neither styles), I prefer to attend a party with 'faces' like who actualy have good time than to be a 'beautiful' face in a 'beautiful' party (and I'm the image of Ashkenazi, if you ever seen one).

you disgust me (again and again). All ye beautiful and PLURish people.

I just wonder what would have happend if someone ("ARS") would write in the Moksha picture thread or Doof festival picture thread about "Dirty, ugly, stinking, drugged-out hippies"?..

What would u call that? I didnt encounter that kind of language anywhere before in that specific thread or nothing even close to it. Maybe there was a bit of cynicism but that is it.

Again - things can be said in many ways

i really didn't want to involve my self in this! but i just couldn't hold my self cos one thing really got me upset !

Helen and Yuli u both talk about one subject and why do u- Helen need to involve Yuli's personal life in it? and what he secceed in and in what he didn't .... i think it was very rude and childish ..... and very personal ..... from the threads its very obvios u don't like each other.... but it sholudn't give a reason to talk dirty !

Ppsygirl (stutter or bad keyboard?), please try to disengage from the close Isratrance clan and actualy read the thread - EVERY comment I made here was about the topic (unlike others). The personal debate between me & Yuli (shhh...sit!) has indeed gone (again) out of control, but still there were always references to the topic at hand.

The reference to the BLT project was done to show that if someone puts so many restrictions on who s/he directs his/her music to, they end up with a really small crowd of listeners.

feel kinda one sided (not unexpected, yet still..) that in the end of such a long debate where both sides were sarcastic, offensive (yes, Yuli hides his in very honey-smooth sarcazm, yet its still aimed to humiliate the other person) and personal, and only one comes out with a slap on his hand.
Not that I mind that much what's ppl's opinions about me or the organization I belong to. I made my point in this thread, and I still believe that it is true - no matter how far it was dragged off topic.

cheers,

Tal you have my personal full answer in a PM since I got tired with that fist fighting

To those that are concerned about my sarcazm - I dont hide it and I never did. I am not a SWEET-TALKER tho, I do believe u r better in it than me. And I usually dont try to humiliate the other since I think it is awful thing to do, but yes when I get personally offended then some blood is drawn - u cant expect that I will suffer your personal attacks with a bow do u.
