Good question.

I guess checking if maybe I was wrong with my conclusions.

I wasn't.           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

What the fuck !?

The people in this picture are Soma & Momi O a.k.a Father & Son - this project is signed in Spun Records and they just released their debut album...so I don't understand what the "What the fuck!?" is for.

Guy, dont you see?? they are dark-skinned, no Sharwals, no dreadlocks/long dirty hair - what the fuck are these ARSIM doing in a trance party???

There can be only one trance culture - the hippie one (AKA the BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE). All other looks/styles/colors are UGLY, and they make the people who look like it UGLY PEOPLE.

On a personal level (leaving the music outside, since I can't stand neither styles), I prefer to attend a party with 'faces' like who actualy have good time than to be a 'beautiful' face in a 'beautiful' party (and I'm the image of Ashkenazi, if you ever seen one).

you disgust me (again and again). All ye beautiful and PLURish people.

I just wonder what would have happend if someone ("ARS") would write in the Moksha picture thread or Doof festival picture thread about "Dirty, ugly, stinking, drugged-out hippies"?..
how come the 'beautiful people' always seem to critisize the 'ugly' scene, yet nobody from the 'ugly' scene is going so low as to critisize the other one about how it looks? food for thought, guys...

Well, I don't know the people (F&S), nor have I heard their music.

I do know, however, that I don't judge them by the way they look. I believe they are not playing progressive nor dark style, because of the nature of the event they were playing in.

On a small note - If I'd seen a picture of you, Zombi, playing in a party with Skazy, Astral, GMS and Ari - I would have thought you are playing full on as well (you're dark, have no dreadlocks and usualy dressed in an 'urban' fasion). No way to judge until you let the music speak. These guys can be excelent DJs for all I know - should I diss them because the way they look?           auspexx@compact-records.com

I know them & heard them playing before - there so my "WTF" still stands.

Helen & Guy you can both keep your "Yafey Nefesh" spirit. you all know what ppl mean with Beautifull & Ugly in the trance scene. maybe those words souns a bit drastic but they are inevidable due to what is going on in the israeli trance scene.

I hope you will both understand what I mean and wont pull out words & meanings from my mouth again

p.s - Helen - your 2 cents Philosophy is nothing new to anyone who gave some thought to that subject

Nobody's pulling words & meanings - it is all there in plain view.

And maybe its about time to do something about this 'beautiful' vs 'Ugly' thing in the trance scene?

indeed, what is going on in the trance scene? Alienation of certain type of people purely because of the way they dress/appear? Separation of population based on their looks?
this is your 'beautiful scene'?

Just for general knowledge - Mr.Cohen here fits in your definition of Ars (both by his origins, his looks and his musical orientation), so he can hardly be called 'yefe nefesh' in regard to this subject, no? And yes, I loved to have Arsim standing next to me on stage cheering - they really know how to party... ask around, its a bit of a historical issue since I'm not playing trance anymore but I'm sure some still remember...

"Yafe nefesh" is a multicultural criticism. it has no connection to origins, looks or what so ever.
Myself - I got no rasta's/long hair, i dont dress like the picture you think I have in my head of a "beautifull trance parties person".

It's my pleasure to disgust u helen, anytime.. Just ask, and I will give u leads for the closest 'ars' party ( when u will be in Israel that is ) but please after your car is broken into, don't blame me as I know u might in the end.

I prefer to be smelly dirty ugly hippie any given minute, no problem with that.. Actually maybe I will stop making showers too..

Bottom line dear helen:

Again it is so easy to be righteous straight from snowy calm and trouble free Finland. Enjoy yer time there, hope u wont bounce into smelly and dirty hippies on your way           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

I really don't care who I bounce into, mate, as long as they are nice and respectful.

your post might had a point, if not for the small fact that unlike you, beautiful stranger, I never had problems with Arsim or any kind of population (except for maybe the nose-up-in-the-air type, that is...), even when I lived and performed in Israel. Getting your car broken in can happen anywhere - it doesn't mean that all the population in a certain party is criminal, now does it?

My bone is with the almost automatic bashing of the looks of the attendees of more 'commercial' parties, as if they have no right to be part of the 'enlightened' trance circle. This is the point of my comments, not whether one likes this or that type of crowd.

again, I dont see this kind of behaviour from the people you call 'ugly' (and treat as lower than you). Their attitude is a bit more respectful and PLURish towards your type of parties. give respect back.

Maybe they dont care about this forum or maybe they cant really read and write english (off topic) but to the point, Tal I believe since you are not residing in israel for a long time and since you keep on mentioning you do not play full on anymore you probably also forgot that the heavy arsim who are around 70% of those commercial parties are normally not there to the pure essence of having fun but in many cases come to disturb, hit on the 5% girls attending the party and use their drugs in a very upforwarded manner which might offend people who are there only for fun.

Im not generalizing here, nor do i say that there are no bad people amongst the "hippie" society, and some arsim do come to enjoy and managed with the years to blend into the scene and these guys are the ones who will support the dj and come mainly for fun!
in this party's case specifically you can see its not the point really and it does look scary.
Since I ,like you, dont play full on anymore I wouldnt like the thought of trying to play anything else but extreme full on cause in this case the chances of me being stabbed are more than reasonable..

And this is completely not about origin imo just about external behaviour.

On the other hand the complaining of the "educated" part of this scene is sometimes over exajurated in my eyes too but that doesnt mean its bad or good, this side of the scene is much more connected to the internet therefore their voice might sound stronger, im sure though if those 2 "sides" meet in person for a debate it will end with the heavy arsim kicking the shit out of the hippie guys i believe we can agree on that at least..

Hope im clearly understood and not offending any side of society..           DJ NADI EarPeaks music Group (Domo/Tupan/Gat music)
