Am I the only one who mourns the death of an ad-free Isratrance?
Having worked for a pay-per-click company I know what a scam google AdWords are.
I thought isra has not been running for profit, if it now is and you are going to keep the ads, I expect to see some serious improvements to the board.
Whats next, pop up ads?
For me the ads, unless absolutely necessary to keep the site running, are a big step in the wrong direction...
Edit: having logged in, the ads disappear, is that how you work it?
Any mod care to enlighten me?

agreed. though the fact that it goes away ater login makes it a bit more acceptable, but still...

These changes (upgraded faster forum, links with topic-related names, Google search and Ads for unsigned users) are part of a long delayed process of forum and site updating.
I'm not totally aware of the extend of the changes, but there will be more. We've been seriously discussing the future of the site and forum since early this year. We need to pay for the server, and we need man power to keep the functions of the forum and the Site running properly, and also to update both. PayPal donation system was one of the suggestions to help server maintenance, but was never implemented.
Many suggestions were discussed, including banners, pop up adds, Google ads and the mentioned PayPal option. I don't remember discussing Google Ads only for unlogged users, but now that it's working doesn't hurt me, because I'm always logged. 
Soon I'll have more info for you, or maybe you can get some first hand info right from ShivaS.
You're all welcome to share your opinions about the changes, and also please keep us informed if you see any bug, but please remember we're trying to keep this place alive.

aww yeah!
maybe isratrance team soon will have some money to buy MAC and fix some issues on safari (most is ok now anywayz)
and maybe make their own realeses or parties... wouldnt that be a dream (it is hehe)
does that realy pay off ? is anyone realy clicked google ad ever more then once ?
i think banners will be also good idea
, not too big tho , and not stuff that will make site slower...
also paypal donation will not harm anyone (u dont have to)
or most simple!!!
make exclusive Top10 section that cost moeny per post!   thats the easy way to get rich lol..

Napo (a.k.a. full_on) said it all. I will just add that you see only HTML code, the one your browser renders and displays you. Nobody ever asked how to help us and nobody ever would know what's going on in our personal lives. We run this place for 10 years and it's time to move on. Yes, we added ads. But we added it to logged-out users (visitors) only. So does it disturb you so much? Will it help to know that these revenues can help us buy stronger and bigger server and allow avatars for example. Or normal mp3 and video files hosting? Even paying to frontend coder and finally start dealing with improving the community and not with the Safari display problem. I can only promise that we won't bring any annoying adds to logged in users and will keep this place clean, free and expanding. Remember this day, it's the start of new trance and electronic music community generation!

just FYI, AdWords is for advertiser and AdSense for the publisher -> thus we use AdSense. And no idea what you are talking about, ppc is the best way to discover keywords for your SEO.

we have lot of plans and the only thing needed is a little trust and time..wait and see what we can do for you;)
We are trying to keep this place free of any ads (for logged in users) so I am not sure yet, we'll rotate any banners here. But who knows ;-)

i dont mind the google add im logged in all the time.
i can understand that the forum has to move on and some avatar additions and maybe an option to add videos in the messages will be nice.
broadband connections is almost everywhere and i can understand that keeping it simple makes the forum accessible to slow connections but some new features will add the the forums usability.
keep going.

Google pays! proven track of payments for last 3 years. any webmaster should consider this option to at least cover hosting fees.
