Ok back again!  Goa Trance doesn't exist anymore.I like goa trance a lot.That's the music which put me in electronic music.Nowdays I prefer most of progressive psy trance music,crossover trance,dub,ambient,alternative/experimental like Psycharmonics,Fabula recs,Exogenic etc,tech trance/psytechno,some of full on like Solstice music,Homega,Twisted,MP,Exposure styles etc and some of dark psy like Holeg Spies,Deviant Species,Tim Schouldt etc.In gen I like all kinds of music with psychedelic roots

u said it yourself, goa rip. so, stop using it and please stop trying to make us connect today's dark-psy music with the old goa trance. why do u even have to call it goa? doesn't dark-psy work for you? fine! find a different "name" to call that sub-genre then. but, do me a favour... not goa! and to answer your question, the term goa trance nowadays represents the same it represented all these years... it's a music style on its own and it doesn't necessarily have to change (or 'evolve') into today's dark-psy!
p.s. i agree with tasos well said. but, let's not forget about the Respect part of PLUR (it's not PLU hehe)

Listen Goa Gil does NOT play anything similar to Goa Trance these days. He play ultra fast, dark and hard music... The total opposite of what Goa trance used to be. His name is misleading those who have no clue about what Goa trance was. And the guy is a horrible DJ too. NO mixing skills at all and no feeling with the crowd. He run his little ego trip based on his reputation as the Grandfather of Goatrance. Yeah just forget that many many other artists that contributed with their excelent music. He have and never will be able to create such music. His music is at best ok. It's not at all in the league with the many other original goa artists at that time.
Goa trance is dead and have been dead since the arrival of Full On. Thats the fact! |
