A movie that deeply inspired Goa Gil:

...and it was pretty awesome, but I'm still having trouble figuring out exactly what makes Goa Gil such a great DJ.
Yes, the tracks he plays are awesome. Sure, he has exclusive access to them but that's because of his reputation and popularity.
His track programming wasn't bad, but is there really such a thing as bad track programming when it comes to that style of music? I feel like you would have to actually be trying to be bad. I think Gil could pick tracks from his crate completely at random and people would still love it.
There was very little dancing. Maybe it was the weather, but the whole weekend I saw maybe 5 people doing anything more than just swaying side to side. It was really disappointing.
So really I feel like Goa Gil is yet another example of how DJ popularity snowballs--once you get popular it's very easy to stay popular even if the reason you became popular is no longer present.
Maybe I missed something. What could I have been missing?

Well you started off by saying it was awesome cos the tracks, but in the end you think you missed something.
So, the tracks didn't really do the trick? Not so awesome after all?
