UM, seriously...
don't you think it's getting kind of late for details on this party??!?
lots of us have gone to great effort to get the weekend off of work and other obligations, and now I'm wondering if I'll even be going at all?!?
If this is going to be happening way north of SF then a lot of the LA people are not going to be able to make it!

I agree, I got a whole bunch of people in the west coast wanting to go and they've been waiting for word from moi.

Friends of Gil are thrilled to announce Memorial Meltdown 2006!
We are very excited to let everyone know that Gil will be returning to California in spring and will have a fresh collection of unreleased tracks for our cosmic dancing pleasure.
We are preparing to host Gil's traditional marathon set on Memorial Day Weekend 2006. Ariane has her own new music as well, playing as Nimba, which we hope she will play in her opening set. Details for the weekend will be posted at Gil's site: http://www.goagil.com.
This gathering is one of the best parties that Gil does all year (we're not bragging, that’s his opinion!), and it's one of the most exciting parties of the season here in California and some would say on the West Coast.
Please plan to join us at the party and if you can throw down some time and energy, we are excited to invite everyone to help out by volunteering in any way you can. We love the community of freaks that show up each year to make this event happen!

Goa Gil Memorial Meltdown
Saturday, May 27, 2006
Northern California Forest
Join us for the traditional Memorial Meltdown as we once again Redefine the Ancient Tribal Ritual for the 21st Century. We begin at sunset with Tribal drumming, followed by an ethno tribal mix from Ariane. The ritual continues through the night and into the day with an epic Dj set from Goa Gil.
Please bring everything you need to survive for the weekend, including food and water. Be prepared for all types of weather, from low nighttime temperatures to high heat during the day.
This is a LEAVE NO TRACE event! Please pack out what you pack in, take all of your trash and recycling with you!
Leave your negative attitudes at home, and treat each other and the land with respect!

Dear God...if you're listening.....I have a really big favor to ask of you.....I know, I know, we haven't exactly been on talking terms lately, but I've been assured you appreciate a self-reliant fellow.....anyways....somethings come up....I need your help on this one thing.....ya see, I have this grandmother dieing in Northern California next weekend...and,well....I'd really like to see her before she passes..............whats that? I am not full of shit! Scouts honor, I won't commune with pagans.....what? I just need help with gas money...and somebody to cover for me for a week.....and I can see my poor grandma before she dies..... can't you help me out on this one...just once?...........I promise, I won't trance dance.....just help me get to California.....
But really, with the grace of God(ess)...I'll be there representing the Arkansas division of wig-flippers anonymous ...... (over the mountains and through the desert to Goa Gil's Gathering I go) |

SO... does "northern california" mean near SF or does it mean near the Oregon border??!?
sheesh, I don't know why everyone is being all secretive about this! As I said before, there really are people who need to PLAN if we are going, and likewise if it is just way too far from LA, we need to plan NOT to go.

the location is always announced closer to the party date... i understand its hard to plan, but also these parties are not permitted events. If we want to be sure that they go on without problems, we need to be secretive about the actual location

Have fun everyone  I have not missed our outdoor Gil gatherings in Oct or May since my psytrek first began many years ago. Traveling the distance and the not knowing is part of the adventure. Then again I was always ready to drive so for those having to make flight arrangements it would be much more challenging as far as time and $$. Good luck friends. I still may choose to make it.
