Yes I would say very lame I experiezed it my self I was there at one party in Goa 2001 I even knew the organizers of such party they were from the same town like me in israel and some guy wanted to play he payed them 100 dolloras to play and after all that hassle of trying to play he killed the dance floor in such a bad way that they removed him straight away..... we never saw this guy in goa again ....

I would have to pay for sex first then still i would think about paying to play !

what about people who like diving - is it lame for them to pay for their hobby?

sure, on the surface it looks 'lame' to pay for the right to play, but hey - if this is his 'kick' and he got the money, why is it really lame?

the only problem in such things is the other party goers and the chance that they will be disapointed from the music.

But who is the real lame here - the guy who wants to have his type of fun and can pay for it, or the greedy party organizer who thinks about his own income instead of what really fits his 'clients' (party goers)?

a good question...           auspexx@compact-records.com

Im totally with you here Helen.
Why are you people making such a big issue about this? If you love to play but dont get the oppurtunity so often, and then some people comes up to you and say - " hey, were making a party and we heard that you r agood dj you can play a set. Thing is its gonna cost us a lot of money so you have to contribute with some..."
Whats the problem with that?
To play at a classic goa party is a dream for many djs, both pros and upcomming, so if you have your chance to live that dream for 50 or 100 bucks, should you say no?
You might even get a minor breakthrogh and get to play at other partys, this time for free.
So once again, where is the problem?

Totally agree with Bert & Xazy on this....
Most of the parties are free in goa.....Except on the NYE.....If the organiser ask some of the upcomming Dj's to open for Some crazee dj....definetely the Upcomming Dj would not mind paying 100 USD to Play and get famous....
The dj who pays & plays gets a break...And If is sucessful in putting up a great show.....people would love to see him again....
I think that would the intension for paying....

We all are talking from our point of view....
There must be something else that goin on in the dj's head who is paying to play...

Lets look at it from all angle's...
