Wow.. okay. You are entitled to your opinion of things. Just for the record, the artist chooses their own career path. We book hundreds of dates with our psy acts, and yes they are getting more commercial, another reason for you to hate. If 2000 people go to our events, of course the artist deserve to get paid for it. If you don't like Avalon, don't go. If you want things to go back to the underground, do something about it. Have promoters send me offers and I will always present it to the artist. But again, it is ultimately the artists decision.

The base weekly crowd is 1000 ppl at Avalon. It's not true that no one knows who is playing. I have witnessed it for 9 months now, and there is a huge presence of fans. Again, what do you suggest? Any other venues? If the venue changed would it make such a difference? I have tried most of the clubs in NY.

but its not true what youre saying.... when i was running parties here, i wanted to bring GMS and they fully wanted to come yet to a typical nyc trance party (not more then 500 attendees at best). they couldnt come and seth couldnt free them from YOUR contract... beleive me seth and i have a personal relationship and on good terms and there was no reason for him to refuse this offer otherwise. we tried a couple of things like thinking about it as Riktam dj set, or Bansi DJ set but they explained that no matter what... they cannot appear for anyone else, you must get your money.... how is this giving other promoters a chance exactly?
i dont know you personally, youre obviously a sharp business man... ive been following your moves in the psy world and i applaud your drive... i just dont like your business.. so its nothing personal. i think it sucks that youre taking something thats suppose to be pure and for the people and turning it into some kind of commerical money maker.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

i suggest you tranceform these venues that you pick into psytrance spaces.... get some decoration, you have the $$ to bring anyone here from the world.... look at how the sadhus did it- they flew in some deco artists each time and tranceformed hangars into out of this world places. make sure the sound is good and not set for house or hip hop music... get some real dj's to play at the party and not eyal hen with house/club trance until the main act....
in short - get real.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

You are right, we probably already had a contract issued for GMS at Avalon. We book our acts there months in advance. It is a monthly, so we need to. If you want Riktam or Bansi for a dj set, email me. Now that GMS is playing this weekend, there is nothing scheduled in the near future and I could be interested in doing the dj set with you. Listen, yes we are a business, like you! You wouldn't be doing it either if you were losing money. Your intentions are to show people a good time, but mine are the same. The difference between Avalon and you, are that they are more disconnected with the true trance heads. Sure there may be other differences, but if Avalon was ALL trance heads, would it be the worst venue?

I would go if it was club Spirit at least, or club Downtime for that matter or Mirage nightclub in Long Island. Yea it's not NYC, but it's definitely better than Avalon. There are plenty more clubs all over the place so I don't think you "have tried most of the clubs in NY."

Well I appreciate all of your suggestions. We moved our night to Spirit for one month, but it wa the opening night and promotions were poor. I will check with the other venues as well. Eyal Hen is the Avalon resident, so I dont have say over whether he plays or not. I am allowed to book another opener or closer though, and am open to suggestions. We will look into Downtime too.

1. ive never seen eyal hen at a tsunami party @ avalon...
2. decoration. decoration. decoration.
3. there are some good nyc based dj's- take a look at the local parties and do some research... names that come to mind are Luis, Nik, Mike-Berzerx, Brandon Adams, Mukti, Sergei, Leo, Lauryn, Fria and probably a bit more i forgot... these are off the top of my head and can really play well (each their own style).

Here are some more:

I haven't been to some of these, but I'm sure you can scope them out to see if the venue fits the artist.           If you ever find yourself being ripped apart by a pack of wolves, try not to scream. Everbody knows wolves can smell fear.

It would need to be in Manhattan. Do you think that Spirit on a Friday would work? Or would it need to be Saturday? Most of the clubs with larger capacities have established Saturday nights, thats why.

Well it's not like the artists are fighting it...

here in denver infected came to play - i heard the show was horrible, but the local rave crowd seemed to enjoy it.. i think it'll be separate always - the psy parties with real psy headliners and the sell-outs. until the said headliners sell out, then on to the next one.
          ..it's just another party..
