eh, pidgeon holing will get us nowhere. this isn't tower records. there are numerous genres of psytrance, pick your artist.
and fwiw, I would file Azax under psy A
(fractal cowboys, on the other hand, would go under psy B ) |

lets all just accept that there are two seperate genres we called psy trance. we both think the other sounds repetitive and formulacic. let s call it psy A for happy, and Psy B for psychotic. everybody happy, and come on,. the money for nothing trac is house music, no?

How about we don't categorize?
And Money for Nothing? I have never heard house music sound that psychedelic, so I would have to say no on that one......
Remember, fun rules.....
assumption is the mother of all fuckups. |

Is this, like, the new incarnation of the 'progressive vs. full-on' debate?? There's good and bad, psychedelic and formulaic music in all sub-genres, imo. Personally, I like to keep an open mind and not judge the music by the tag it comes with.

Hi
GMS has a formula, that's true. Personally I've grown tired of their music a few years ago.
But you cannot deny that it is a great sound to introduce outsiders (like your parents) to "psy" music... |

D' you cheeky bastard!
you know i'll be bringing my laptop and will be slutting for sound systems.
It's disappointing that GMS probably won't play BM, I haven't listened to much of their music lately but, hey, I like having options. So, they play Japan friday thru sunday, what's to stop them coming to playa earlier in the week, then flying out of SF on thursday. Wishful perhaps but quite do-able.
plenty 'o good music, even the bad music sounds good especially in the crispy dusk air in the middle of nevada!

PsyTribe is ready to rock Burning Man
Just wanted to let everyone know that PsyTribe will be at the 10:00 area at burning man with an amazing set up stage, lighting and deco, but most important a kick ass soud system, that should be one of the loudest in the playa, all our resident DJ's will be playing plus whichever quality trance DJ shows up at burning man, they will be playing at our stage for sure, so we hope all who are going to Burning Man will swing by the 10:00 Area, look for the PsyTribe Camp and kick up some playa dust.
We are going all out for this one and our expenses have exceeded our expectations, obviously we are doing this for fun and dont profit from this, we are just trying to get this whole thing organized and we are short of money so we will have a fundraiser by throwing a trance party at the beach on August 21st, 2004 and hopefully we can raise money with some donations. More info on beach party fundraiser will be posted. If anyone can help let us know.
life is music and music is psytrance |
