GMS not coming to Burningman! :(

Looks like Bansai and Ritkam will be playing
Mt. Fuji in Japan on September 3rd and 4th - Solstice can definately offer them a good time and top dollar.

while they are not my very favortie trance act in
in the scene, they are definaly pro and can burn a party up ... Burningman could have really used the energy!

this is the best thing. the burning man sound is underground psy trance, not the ibisa house trance style. burning man is on the out and out anyway, but that would have been a real soul crusher to hear Money for Nothing on the playa

IMHO I am tired of template music, with an standarized production. Music which embraced imagination, now it is treated like a predesigned product. For me that it is a soul crusher. It just does not inspire me. But, it seems to inspire plenty of others who are fed a fraction of the power for the full buck. Who are told this is it and are blinded from the truth. Half of the work and triple the pay might have something to do with it. Oh well, good for them for as long as they keep it up.
But it is clear we need a revolution, with a new vision to propell a rejuvenated awe and with our boundless imagination opening new doors and not just being screwed into another economical machine.

God, so much hate towards a group which has so greatly influenced a scene that was supposed to stand for love and acceptance of all.
Regardless of the opinions, GMS is still tops for me.

Besides Ricktam and Bansi are cool ass people and fun as hell...who cares if they played or not their presence will be missed..
I hope ALL the other music on the playa is conducive to my state of mind because if it's not then I'm afraid my inspiration may be cut down and I'll go home with a crushed soul...what the f?
Maybe if we were getting payed to play somewhere where trance was guaranteed not a side attraction then instead of throwing down money for an international airline ticket, transportation, food and entrance fees a few of us might choose Japan too...

yeah, like so i don't play much GMS, but the one time i saw them, they tore the f*** out of the party. crazy. 
i wish they were going, but it's not like i won't still have a blast!!!
i dont see how their presence or lack thereof means jack or shit about having a good time at burning man. It's just not that kind of party...

some of us are being over the top since we see gms as a mega commercial act where every track sounds the same...im all for artists making money everyone should make a living..and gms was once great i believe but track after track is a formula..i cant feel the heart or the creativity in that..it seems like a well marketed brand name..tho many in the world are over it..
and last time Burningman is not now or never will be a trance party...it is a festival that at times has had great parties of trance due to individuals/collectives taking it on...its not about lineup or money etc...
go to burningman and have an experience!~

There is no hate here, I am just giving an opinion about some music within the psy trance genre. I am sure Ricktam and Bansi might be killer dudes , but I am not attaking anyone personally... I have no reason. On the contrary, as I said: "Oh well, good for them for as long as they keep it up."
Personally though, I feel sad since much music has lost the imagination to take me places. Music which lately sounds closer to club trance. And slowly this is plaguing the bins of the stores.
So I was calling for a revolution. So no hate from "I ppl" just bored out of my mind with the recycled standarized BS "most" psy trance is lately... IMHO

Well... If you dont like it then dont listen.
Nothing too complicated.
Everyone say thier tracks sound the same.
To me its such BS. All thier tracks do NOT sound the same. Maybe same/similar ideas. Why blame them for other that copy this style.
Its the same with any music. Look at ANY genre.
They found thier formula and they make killer tracks.

As for Burning man not being a trance party. Its cool, never been. dont think i'll go.
Dont make any kind of sense for them to pay out of pocket to got here to play when they can be in Japan rocking and getting paid and all that good stuff! |

Day time is going to one of the best rock fes around the world and night time it will be turned into cool dance fes. Last year's high light was Wizzy Noise, and this year GMS, SKAZI, SPACE TRIBE, chemical brothers and basment jaxx are playing. Should be fun. Yes its very commercial though...tens of thousand of people and, the ticket is freaking expensive, $400 for 3days.
Anyway, sad GMS is not coming to BM. I don't listen to GMS much lately, but I always like to see them playing on the booth. They are very professional on the stage when you talking about stage act. They know how to set fire on the dance floor...Hope they have good time in Japan.
With/witout GMS, BM will be amazing for sure. Tell me what you listen, and I'll tell you what you are.

Their presence or lack thereof won't make or break BM but that is the whole point..why so much s...talking about GMS when BM is about the experience not trance or any music for that matter?
Their presence will be missed because they would add to the whole experience..they would not their music...
Anyway we will all have a great time regardless of who goes right!?

Dude this is not an argument, but c'mon man, name one act in trance that doesn't use a formula or similar sounds etc in every track they do. The only difference with the others is that no one has chosen to copy or be influenced by it. This talk about formulaic trance is nonsense. ALL TRANCE IS FORMULAIC.....THAT IS WHY IT PUTS YOU INTO A STATE OF TRANCE......GMS created a style in which people truly/genuinely love it and it is that same style which conjures so much passion from the haters too...TO ME THAT IS POWERFUL music......No one in Psytrance gets the response on these message boards that GMS does. Any thread they are mentioned in goes on and on and on. WHY? because they inspire so many.........I decided to learn how to DJ, when I saw BANSI throw down a powerful, mystical set in LA. Bansi had the crowd at his finger tips and only he could control their fate for that evening. So AMAZING man......Like no other DJ, except maybe Dino, Joti, and the rest of the OG's.
And last thing to all the haters....to say you don't hate is rediculous. A little test.....Think of your reaction to this post when you saw it and decided to comment.......hmmm, yup, that brief moment of excitement you had to write something negative about the scientists, shows how you really feel.
