psychedelic trance is not undergound any more...
we have to admit that....
many parties...many fests....and of course many record labels and groups....the competition is high between them...how do you think that they wiil survive?.....only by making commercial music which means profit for them...what can we do?....simply LEARN what psytrance is ....for God's sake guys...for exmple don't think that by listening to the latest hit of GMS you 've seen it all...listen to their past releases and you will understand what music was then...but we should not talk only for the past...for the first time in our music's history a psytrance group entered the top 100 djs....Infected Mushroom took the 26th stage(i think)...that is very good for them and our music but are they gonna give us good quality music as now being recognised from all?....we will find it soon...till then open your ears |

better say halph destroyed,because we still live,play,dance and join at parties...
In the begining I remeber trancers singing bluepsychobabas with their mouth on the roads an saying listen to the future (megalh pwrosi)it was like a new fashion,the rave generation,someting unknown and unusual to the wild youth,and for all those who wanted to explore more and more with much more passion...now after more than ten years psy-trance is something usual ,but I trully believe that we have lost that special vibe and spirit we had at the begining of 90s and the end of 2000...that is why I beleive we halph destroyed and now trying to collect our pieces back with a reunion of the tribe in athens...

for those who used to consider trance as a new music wave or fashion and now listen R'n'B  it's definately destroyed and "not cool anymore".
but what i see is thousands of people getting together from all around the globe in international festivals at both hemispheres in order to communicate in the same music vibes. Totally different cultures of totally different people of the planet merge together.
Can you tell one other kind of music that makes people travel from japan or Australia to Europe or South Africa just for the sake of one Music Festival?
Only TRANCE can do this and no i don't believe it's been destroyed.
p.s. If only the media wouldn't interpret people who attend such festivals as young hippies who go there only to try "illegal substances" ELEOS!!! (=mercy)

I can only say that i experienced my best party ever in this sumemr in a small walley in australia.. I couldnt dream, a party could be like this. AMAZING...
Who ever entered this question should focus on the light and see the miracles happening around us...

I think it is because the bad guys(club owners, police, state, merchant artists and promoters) have taken over as they do in most cases. Then the 'spirit' flies away in order to be protected and found once again by the ones who deserve it.

Dear andonis. I think that it is wrong to blame it ALL on the "system"
A strong factor where problems occur is the crowd it self. IMHO we can't call "bad guy" a club owner who is giving his club for psy trance events. Or the state, or the police who actually don't realy care about trance .Or "merchant artists" who after all became commercial out of the crowds appreciation.
Police only care about DRUGS, and looking deep iside you, you will see that maybe they are not wrong afterall...If the police doesn't get any sign of improvement, they realy have a bad, but very effective way to "solve" problems...They bust parties and they finish imidiately with this "pain in their asses".
As mentioned on other topics the old days of "freedom" are far gone by now. Police know everything at any time about parties. And here comes the "commercialisation" wich may be the only way of this scene's existance. Year after year many officials are watching closely the so called trance movement. If they only see that trance events are a cover for drug orgies, believe me ,you will not ever see a trance event beyond private ones.
Please don't get me wrong, but trying to promote trance as a hippy way of "freedom" entertainment on 2005, we are automaticaly wasted.
So i left promoters last for my refer to this post. Promoters are pretty much responsible about the image of trance events ,the way of promoting, and especially the way of how their thoughts can become active and creative. I always try as a promoter to keep my events focused on music. I try not to give "spiritual" base. And for all the reasons mentioned above ,i try to have a "commercial" image .
I know that this may sound bad, or far from the "trance idea" .But i am just the promoter...if you know what i mean. What ever i try, the crowd is the last and the strongest factor.
My msg to everyone through this post is that trance is a way of entertainment. Maybe an extreme one, but we don't have to look at it as a very big deal. It is just having fun throughout music and dancing.
PS
I didn't mention anything about drug dealers. They are everywhere and i can not consider them as a main factor. They are part of a general social matter.
Besides there are plenty of ways and actions in order to make them feel uncomfortable within parties.

Plz correct me if I'm wrong mate but I've been following your posts for quite long now and I've seen how you've been defending the "vision" and the "spirit" of trance. Like a modern crusader fighting the demons, struggling hard to keep the flame alive, confronting his sworn enemies.
Ok nothing wrong about it, this is your way and this is your choice and I wish you keep on well. We all know that things are not like they used to be. But if you asked for my humble opinion, I would say that it would be better if you fought your battles silently on the background rather than shouting out loud about what you do.
And I have to ask.....how is it possible for someone to accept your view about the destruction of psy trance, while at the same time you are organizing and promoting two forthcoming events within 15 days and with names like Miranda, Technodrome, Absolum and Sirius Isness ? Are you talking about the destruction of trance as a promoter ? As a label representative ? As a listener?

Tim I think I get your point. For one I agree with Psy_mystic that it is more than entertainment. To me it is close to the hippy ideal of sharing happiness. The representatives of the system do not know anything about it, perhaps noone showed them that such a thing can exist. On the other hand this spirit and striving is very fragile and vulnerable since it is based on the concept of love and not violence(although it needs to find the ways to protect itself). I think that on this subject we have a lot to learn from the hippy movement and its' defeat about the ways in which authority tries to implement itself but also about the reasons that concern the people within the movement (imo mainly existential and economic ones). Drugs at that time also were concidered as a medium towards unchartered territories of the psyche(at least by serious users as is the case also nowadays). Also there lies a serious matter for discussion. It is hard when one realises how things correlate because one sees the bigger picture. Personally I like it but I guess others are quite happy with their lives and the status quo in trance and society in general and may not want to go into this.

Psymystic. That's why i said that i am just a promoter who has to find a way to promote trance. The "image" according to my opinion is a major factor. And i've tried to explain the reasons why this image has to be alternated and adjusted .
Anyone is free to have his own image and to believe what ever he wants to believe.
Yet my post is refering specific on how we can look "normal" through society's eyes.
Manipulate in order not to be manipulated. If you know what i mean. Since in any case i don't want to look like a compromised trancer. So please don't get me wrong. Ofcourse there is more within trance...but this is not my "part" anymore. This is up to the ppl.
