Well, I'm in this scene for good music first, and innovation later. I mean, is innovation the only force that drives some of you people??           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

when you get bored of something you start to look for something more innovative in your eyes somewhere else

Could the answer to this topic be that it was because it was still "new" at that time.
And now more ppl produce it and therefore has gotten "worn" out?

No matter what style of music you produce, in the end it will get saturated and eventually the ones with enough innovation and dedication will prevail and the rest will move on to other styles.           For the TT beliver: www.techtrance.2tunes.com

It seems to me that the likes of Extrawelt, Fuzzion, Trentemoller are making more Psychedelic and adventorous music than most of the artists in the Prog, Full-On, Dark-Psy scenes. Could be only me though.

Isn't, well.. Isn't Pgrogressive supposed to sound a little bit ... "boring and monotone"? Isn't it? My favourite progressive trance album must be: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/tat/tat1cd019.html Very sweet, boring and monotone. Pluss it's got psychedelic/trippy soundscapes which "we" all love So, whats the best progressive album in your collection? (in your opinion, of course)

The best right now? I'd go for Daily Basis from Flow or the Summer Collection Vol. 2 from Iboga. One of those would do fine. But I love progressive basically, so I'm hard pressed to put these forward as favorites.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. Just to clear things up. I have never been a prog person (I have a couple of albums, and enjoy them). I don’t mind Progressive (be it trance, house, rock (progressive rock is NOT monotone and boring btw. It’s more a travelling genre (see Tool, Theatre of Dreams … ) and I do listen to it when friends and such are playing progressive.
Prog for me is a more "adult" genre. And that’s why I said "Monotone & "boring"" .. I don't think I'm wrong about this classification, not at all. Maybe the newer (psychedelic genre progressive) releases are far from my description. But am I that wrong? Isn't it supposed to be a little bit.. boring.. monotone and "grown-up"? .. Remember when you where a kid. Didn’t some of the food, activities, television shows that you parents watch seem a bit.. Boring, monotone and adultish? (hehe, I know I'm going way off target here, but try to follow my strange brain). Now that your an adult, you understand more of why and what they watched. What seemed to be “boring” before, can now be VERY exiting, innovating and fresh. But I’m not claiming, just speculating and playing with old thoughts that might be wrong.

@psytones
actually all progressive music (including progressive metal like Tool or Dream Theater) have those moments where all the instruments do the same thing in the same note but with a different sound...and progress trance has the most developed sound in all progressives on that certain point.
therefore i doubt about monotony

edit(description): exept that all the instruments progress to one point, also the sound progresses all the time and that's why it's called progressive
and now let's go back to "monotony"
