I was Djing a small gig here in Atlanta when some young girl (she couldn't have been more than 16) came up to me with a pacifier and glitter and said something to the effect of "Um...are you gonna play any songs with, like, words?" I just started laughing and said "sure" then proceeded to play Mumbo Jumbo's Weird Sick and Twisted rmx. It's got words...not exactly what she was expecting.

Another story-- a friend of mine took way too much liquid on his birthday and disappeared for about 6 hours, which worried the rest of us quite substantially. Somehow he had ended up on stage dancing behind the dj...and he definitely didn't have a backstage pass or any memory of how he got up there.

During one of our DJ Sets in Brasil, some person had an heart attack.... he didnt die (Thank god), but still not a pleasent thing in a party..
Now the question we ask is, were we playing too strong? or the guy took too much XTZ??

.... Anyhow... take it easy

Cocaine is notorious for causing heart attacks. In February I was working on the Cardiology floor of a hospital, and this man in his 30s came in with a small heart attack. It happened while he was on a coke binge. It's not such a rare occurence.

MDMA and amphetamines can do it too, but only in people with pre-existing heart disease (a simplification, but it suffices for now).

great topic , great reading . cant go past colin from OOOD story ,very funny .
was at a party on the nrth coast of australia few years ago . 2 day festival . on the first night i noticed there was a guy dancing naked , no big deal but as i looked closer i could see that he was enjoying himself a little bit to much and was having a good old flogg(toss/wank/pull) while he was dancing . but to my suprise everyone just kept dancing around him . the guy dissappeared for a while only to re-appear having a good go at it again spread out over some hay bails on the side of the danclefloor .
on another occassion , different party . in national park forest , green nuns of the revolution were playing after being in a car accident while trying to get there . a guy thought it was a good idea to put out the fire with the fuel container that the petrol came in . i've never scene a whole dancefloor moove quicker in my life . on the same night/ morning while the nuns were playing(to there shock and suprise) a girl dressed in a nuns uniform jumped up onto a table in front of dj tent and began to strip and give birth to a green balloon . was pricless to see the nuns face's but the show must go on .
the most recent funny story i heard was of a party in austria were this poor fellow was seen going to a lone porta loo ontop of a hill . he jumped in to do his buisness , when all of a sudden the porta loo became unstuck and ended up falling end over end down the hill ending up door down at the bottom of the hill . after the loo was corrected by some kind souls , he came out covered in everyones waste . but hey thats not enough to detere you from having a god time . so later on in the festival this same guy fell of a cliff and had to be rescued by helicopter . but thats still not enough to detere this guy . he came back the next day after being cover in shit , falling of a cliff ending with broken bones etc , and partied on .

There was a really funny moment at Freqs of Nature during Mark Day's set.

The story: a few months prior to the party, Mark and a friend in Denmark had made a bet regarding the football. Mark is a fan of Chelsea and our friend a fan of Manchester United. The two teams were playing a game, and each had made a bet that their respective teams would win, with the loser having to bring the other a crate of beer for them to the festival.

So, Manchester United ended up winning, and Mark turned up to the festival having forgotten to buy our friend the crate of beers. Because of this mishap, he was made to do a forfeit: wear a Manchester United t-shirt during his set that our friend had brought along for him.

Was so fucking funny. He ended up wearing it during one track, then took it off and hung it over the stage while looking at it bemused. He was so embarrassed afterwards, hahahaha. Was so funny seeing somebody blasting out incredible forest psy while wearing a Manchester United t-shirt.

To top it off, when he was setting up next to Farebi Jalebi, a friend of our mate James (who didn't know Mark) said to James, "Who is that guy setting up? Is he an undercover cop or something?" Mark doesn't dress like a psytrance hippie whatsoever, and he did definitely look out of place on the stage.

Is he smuggling drugs, because he says he is".

At a party in Japan way up in the mountains. Silly Japanese guy pours petrol from a 25 litre can onto the fire to make it go. The fire snakes it way up the pouring liquid to ignite the whole can. Cool as a cucumber Israeli guy just waltzes over and screws cap on can and deprives it of oxygen and puts it out. What a hero, I though we were all goners!

Mh, I had some strange moments. But not as superlative as some others posted in this topic.

One day I was so out of my mind that I put the CD not in the CD slot of the CDJ but actually under it and then started to ask the organiser, what is wrong with the fucking CDJ *g*

Other time I had serious health problems during a 7 hour set, which made me to actually sit down and feel lots of pain, but finished set anyways.

Other time I played on one floor of a small club, which was the chill out floor. And the music was also played on the other floor, which was the dance floor, beacause the Dance Floor DJ cancelled short befor the gig. It was strange, because of course I started to play non chill out music and then some people started dancing on the dance floor, where there was no DJ .... and I was playing in the chai hippie chill floor with lots of carpets and so on knowing that people dance on the invisible other florr... sometimes I went down to look

Of course I also did a good amount of funny mixing mistakes, including letting the channel, which I thought I was just prelistening, actually play loud for a good amount of seconds. Oh god.

And one intense thing was, when I played a whole night (21-4) in a small freaky place and had so much fun, that I actually continued playing even after the place closed for the night, everybody left and "just" the keepers of the place were kindly cleaning up everything, one of the two started to cry, but not because he was upset with anything, but because it was very "touching" (my English is bad, sorry). I played this song at that time, nice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NO2Xh3-jB4

Another time I played a piece from Klaus Schulze called Irrlicht, which is very dark. And somebody asked, if this is a funeral.

Some other day a street musician entered the club and asked, if I could stop my set, so that he can play. And I was very happy, because he played very nice african music. So, of course I let him play in the chill stage. And it was wonderful.

Well, there is many more minor stuff.
