At the begining of this year, like on january 27th we were at the ypy poty gathering at this outstanding beach between Rio and Sao Paulo and cops came to check out (not in a smooth way at all) what was going on.
They parked their cars next to the dance floor, totally messing up the landscape and suddenly all the trance heads started to dance around the cops and their cars, some like trying to spread some good energy and stuff and others just yelling for them to leave and let them dance in peace....that was funny, beautiful and powerful at the same time, great moment. Awsome!

A couple of years ago I was Djing in a small club when a completly drunk guy (aparently not too familiar with the scene) aproached me and asked me to put some Dire Straits (!!!????).
I was in shock, speachless... |

This year, in august in think, theres a techno party, and Geezer was making a live act, and in the middle of the act, he suddently fall in the ground!!! he simply blackout in the middle of the act, but nothing serious happen, but it was really funny, geezer is really a freak guy |

dire straights is an awful english rock band.. be glad you don't know them.. heres a bit of trivia for you.. the first released cd was dire straights...

If they're bad or not isn't the question. The thing is that nobody in his right mind would ask a Trance DJ to put some rock'n'roll while all around ppl are jumping like crazy. |

hehe... should have put on the 1200 mics track with the Dire Straights guitar rift in it, but then what DJ would be crazy enuff to put that track on at a party

Ok, nice this thread came up again I haven't seen it b4, great stories ppl!
I'll tell a story that hapened in this new year in morrocco.
In morrocco ppl speak arabic and french, in french "happy new year" is "bonne anne" (spelling might be wrong)
Anyway, this English guy at the party, thought it was really funny, because when morrocco ppl would wish him happy new year, he though it sounded like Banana (bonne anne)
The PA in the festival was going down all the time (no complains, it was a free festival and the vibe was perfect). Anyway, one time on the new year eve, the sound stopped and this English guy started yelling "BANANA!!BANANA!!!" , suddenly everyone was yelling "BANANA!", and it kept like that all night, every time the sound would stop everyone would just start yelling "BANANAAAA!!!!"
It was reaaaaaly funny!!!!  |

I was playing once at a club and was playing around with the eq knobs... only to later notice i was playing on the wrong channel...
so in effect i was doing nothing
the thing was i was working real hard and i thought i was making cool things happen.... with the mid and the bass eq, turns out that it was just the track .

I was mixing for a large crowd at BurningMan 2001 when a young woman came up to the decks to ask a question. This was a loud system and it was very hard to hear what she was saying. Its sounded something like "Do you want some Happy gum?" It was Burning Man and not wanting to turn down a gift or a beautiful girl I said shure. I was in the middle of a mix so she came around and waited next to me for a moment doing something with a small container and a pack of gum. When I looked up at her after the mix she grabed my head and kissed me pushing the gum she had in her mouth into mine. She yelled out to her friends Jumped off stage and ran off. I noticed after a moment that the gum had a small paper square rolling around in it. I allmost did not complete my set after that little gift... MMMMnnn Happy gum... ~B~
My Girlfriend was none too pleased. Hehe... |

lol surrender : i do that all the time, its not just you mate!
just this weekend gone i supported after protoculture, half an hour into my set this middle aged CRAZY woman comes up and starts beating me and the decks up with a bottle, shouting at me 'WHAT ARE U DOING!!! TURN IT DOWN!!! I TOLD YOU!!' lol it turns out she was an enraged local of the area, come to get angry! after a bit of ducking and weaving i told her to get lost glad the crowd thought it was hysterical...
BUT even crazier, a party called MARDIGRASS, in nimbin australia. 3000 people, and the dj before me was tripping really hard when the police came and dragged him out behind the tent, pushing him around, asking who the organisers were, all he could say was 'gotta change the track man!!' but they KEPT pushing him, and the dj couldnt hold it in anymore, and promptly THREW UP all over the copper's legs hahaha. Five minutes before i was due to start, the RIOT police turned up, and a message went over the P.A.
"People, the Riot Police are here, if they come into the party, we would kindly like you to show them the door!!" and 3000 people went "YUAAAAAAAAAHH!" it was almost world war three, and i was going to play prggy music lol
and plenty more, oz can be a crazy place

I couldnt agree with you more, Dj Lestat (TALAMASCA) is one of the funniest guys up there ive seen him in two festival at Mexico and both where a blast

It happened at marakame festival, "The Antidote" was playing and suddenly one guy jumps to stage and grabbed Serge by his shirt and starts screaming at him. Everybody that saw this got shocked. After a couple of minutes Serge some how tricked the guy and also a couple of security guys came and grabbed the agresor.
This aint funny but its a story |
