so why does everybody think it's juno? i also thought it was a juno track...

Not sure, maybe because Juno played a large role in the music for Matrix 2.

Don Davis composed the majority of the score for the movie then did a few collaborations with Juno Reactor. I think there were 2 solo Juno tracks

As far as i understand he plays live perc for Juno ??? right or wrong ?

Could be, can't confirm, the track in the cave scene by Fluke is called 'Slap It' the full version is absolutely epic, over 10 minutes long and it really gets the crowd going...

The trouble is having something equally good to put on after it ;-)

cheers,

Yeah the version in the movie is called Zion, I think it's about 3 or 4 mins long. The full length version is called Slap It and weighs in at over 10 mins long

Ok, just found an entry in Wikipedia for this track haha

I think somebody asked who plays percussion with Juno Reactor.

I'm pretty sure it's Pops Mohammed.

WHAT A LEGEND.

PS Juno Reactor ARE AMAZINGLY TALENTED!           Mind my mind.

what differentiates sa trance from the rest imo is first of all the basslines which have alot of changes and then are layered with twisted sounds and im a big fan of both of those and funky fx running allover... some american producers sound have alot of sa influence and of course cant forget abomination!!! anyways i just wanna give mad props to all the artists down there im dying to be in a party one day down south but then again as long as u guys keep coming to israel im a happy camper artifakt up next!!!

we really nee to feed and nuture our scene and our sound... i think it would be great if the local labels would put up and coming producers in contact with the bigger local names, so that they can pass on thier knowledge to us, so that we as a whole can improve and make our name on the global scene. there should not be secrets kept from our fellow friends in our own country, and naturally we will all have our own variations of what psytrance is. we need to come together and teach eachother and learn from eachother.
in our electro scene we have free workshops such as liquidfridge, upload, big love productions where local producers have free worskshops where they share thier knowledge with the rest of us who are intrested. why dont the labels organise this? it can only do them better by having more of a local talent to put on cd's and take overseas.

COME ON!!!!!!!

what do u guys think?

nice in theory , however this could cause a certain sound stagnation as many young producers would and might end up emulating the methods of the older ones, instead of creating ones own distinct sound through technical skillz...

it could but i doubt that because every producer has thier own way of thinking and producing, there are alot of up and coming producers who have the ideas but maybe sound production wise they need guidance. and even if they do have a stagnate sound then that thier problem by not been original and unique. im just saying that i think there are some of us who need help to get to that next level.

i dont see why people are so closed about helping eachother

look at the forums that is a wealth of info on producing
but sitting down with somone and actually talking to them and seeing them do things is a whole nother experince, even better, even more inspiring.

why do other local electro producers dont mind sharing thier knowledge?

the only reasons i could think of why local psytrance producers dont share thier knowledge is that they are scared of competetion. if they are so good they could keep coming up with fresh and new ideas and production techniques, therefore leaving the basics to the new kids on the block.

why is everyone so closed minded on this?
what do they have to loose?

it can only make us stronger as a whole

i hear what you are saying but let me explain what i mean,....

say for example producer X is a famous producer and you sit down with producer X and he shows you exactly how he makes his basslines...i.e synth programming, EQ'ing, compression, arrangement, etc...

you havnt really learnt anything except how to copy making producer X's basslines and getting producer X's sound

i know you are going to say now, that by sitting down with producer X, you will learn enough to make you own sound up...

truth is no, not really....unless producer X sits down and gives you a lesson on a compressor, but the chances are producer X probably knows very little on actual compression theory, except for the presets he uses every time, which were taught to him by producer Y

this is my point really

i am not against it, however i do think this sorta thing is to blame for the stagnation and genericness of the psy sound , the world over.

and the exact reason in my mind all the timecode stuff sounds generic and alike, inamoungst the TC producers

correct me if i am wrong/thoughts on this please
